I have only been blogging for about two months and so many amazing things have happened to me in that short time.  I have connected with so many of you and have learned so much knowledge that I never would have thought I would understand -  HTML, how to optimize photos, and what an f-stop is for.  But last week, I had the best surprise.

I am still hyperventilating I am so excited.  In one of my first posts – Finding Potential In Your Closet, I mentioned Kim Johnson Gross along with Jeff Stone, the creators of the Chic Simple series of guides to modern-day living that I just love.    They are not high fashion or celebrity driven books, but offer real life style solutions for everyday dressing for all major and minor events in your life.
I have studied them almost until I had them memorized.  I still use them as a reference when I need some wardrobe and/or accessory help.  If you are not familiar with them, just think of the way InStyle Magazine has pages where the clothes are laid out on a white background, placed as you would wear them.  That presentation method we can thank Kim, Jeff Stone and Chic Simple for.

Well, last week when I opened my e-mail I saw not one, but two emails with Kim Johnson Gross in my Inbox.   I thought, “oh, it must be from Amazon about her new book that I pre-ordered”.  So I clicked thinking that would be what I would find, but it wasn’t,  They were notes from Kim herself, telling me how she found my blog because my post was listed with her name in a search engine.

She is my style icon and she likes my blog!!!
I had to re-read them a second time before I went running through the house to find my husband, laptop in hand – exclaiming, you are not going to believe this…

Without the Internet, the extent of social media, and my blog I would have never been able to connect with her or any of you.  Kim is coming to Philadelphia for a book signing  in April, so I will get to meet her in person.

Her new book, entitled, What to Wear For The Rest Of Your Life comes out in April.  I can’t wait for it to come out.  I already know that I am taking the day off of work, so I can read it all in one sitting.

I LOVE Blogging and all of you, my readers.  I love seeing your faces in my sidebar.
You guys are great and leave the best comments.  Thanks,  I look forward to bringing you many more inspiring ideas.

So fun!!!! When I first started blogging I did a book review and it freaked me out that the author commented.
