I love the bling factor of vintage jewels. I am not sure why I am so drawn to them, perhaps it’s the colors, the styling, or their history. Whatever it is I can’t pass them up when I see them at a flea market or a yard sale, especially if there are a bunch of various pieces in a box for one price. I bring them home and play with them for hours until I get ideas on how to use them.
At one time I had earrings on the site too, but the bracelets seem to be the best selling item. When I get the time, I will add more items. I also need to do some house cleaning over there since starting In My Own Style I have ignored keeping everything tidy.
To wear any of the pieces in their original state can look dated. If you have the right style and attitude – you can carry them off as a bit funky. I found when a few of the pieces are placed together, they can look downright - irresistible. I re-styled some of my stash into bracelets with a modern touch. If you would like to check them out you can look around my website. I have a link in my left sidebar or you can link right here – styledi.com

Hi, Di, pretty jewelry! And I love your made at home labels, those are really cute. I may see if I can use one of those for some spice jars I’ve been meaning to add labels to. Nice!

What a lovely blog! I’ve enjoyed looking around tonight. I love vintage jewelry. My mom gave me a bunch of her stuff from the ’50s and ’60s because she didn’t want it anymore, but I couldn’t stand to see her give it all away.
