When I got home from work today and went online to enjoy my daily reads in my Google Reader I kept reading about Nate. Nate Berkus that is. As I read through all the posts about him I found out why. It all started with a “tweet” when the Moggit Girls tweeted the idea of Nate Berkus having an all design blogger audience for his new TV show premiering Monday September 13th on NBC. The tweet was re-tweeted and re-tweeted and spread around the blogosphere and before we knew it, the show’s producers were arranging for it to happen! How cool is that?
This is a great example of starting something small and seeing something big actually happen from it. You can see the whole list of bloggers here, taking part in this “Nate Berkus Day”.
What I like best about Nate – he is the best big brother. I enjoyed reading in Glamour Magazine about how he helped his sister decorate her apartment. I just loved what he did, but loved that he was being a cute, wonderful brother, helping her out in the best way he could. I love this picture of the two of them.
I love how he mixes things – junky, whimsical, classic, and traditional - making it all look perfect. The marble lamp base with the burlap shade and the baskets. He knows how to use texture to create interest in a room.

This is by far my favorite room designed by Nate. I just love the colors- tan, black, and white. This photo is in my clipping file and the inspiration for my own studioffice. The ceiling to desk inspiration board right by a sunny window to gaze out while you are working is what I love the most. I dream about sitting in that chair by the window. I love the contrast of the white desk against the black Chippendale chairs.

And his bathroom – so simple, elegant, chic. He even makes a pig look good.

What fun it would be to be able to attend this show with other design bloggers. Going to NYC is only a two hour drive away for me and is a treat in itself, seeing Nate Berkus and being part of all this would make my day, month – year!
