There is no place like HOME!

by Diane on 09/03/2010

Hi Everyone-

As you probably have gathered by now, I am home!  Home Sweet Home.  The best place in the world – all my creature comforts nearby, friends, and family – peaceful.  I have been doing a lot of sleeping and getting more energy with each passing day.  I have posted a few posts – easy to write ones with no tutorial – the dress form giveaway and a link up of my blogging space to Centsational Girl.  I am currently working on a fun project, you may remember the post I did about my On-Going Christmas Project link- up.  The project is in a semi-done state and just needs to be assembled.  It is in the basket below.  This type of project is perfect for me now as it is a sit on the sofa kinda project.  My craft cart is coming in mighty handy and is keeping me organized.   My plan is to post this project in it’s complete state on Monday.

I also wanted to express my gratitude to each one of you for your comments and emails. I’ve enjoyed reading each and every message…some of you had me laughing (thanks).  Your heartfelt and authentic sentiments have helped me keep a positive outlook through my medical misery.  This blog brings me so much joy, mainly because I get to connect with you every day.

Thanks for being here and helping me get through with a smile on my face :)

I also wanted to share a few things that I have found.  Since I had been off the blogging radar for awhile, you can imaging how many posts were waiting for me in my Google Reader when I got home – hundreds and hundreds of them.  I finally got through the last few this morning.  It was a bit overwhelming at first and I thought I would just clear the reader, but I didn’t want to miss any posts, so I tackled a bit each day.   I found so much inspiration and wanted to share a bit of it with you.  I like to title posts like this as:

In Their Own Style

Inspiring Posts I have found around the blogosphere

I love these free printable gift or seed envelopes that Cathe over at Just Something I Made created for us to use.  I love, love, love the two below.  I plan on tucking in some special  little surprises into them to give to my friends and family.  You can find all the printables and a full tutorial over at Cathe’s blog,  Just Something I Made.

Jessica over at How About Orange made these clever gift bags out of ordinary envelopes and decorative tape.    She has a full- step-by-step- tute also.  Can you tell I have a thing for gift bags?

If you love gift bags and gift wrap ideas as much as I do you should check out Jami’s Pretty Packages Link Up over at the Blackberry Vine.
pretty packages party every month

Heather Bullard posted a basil pesto recipe. I have tons of basil in my garden right now and this recipe looks delicious and easy to make. I just love Heather’s scrumptious photos.

Pesto3

I also have been waiting to use these tags that I found a while ago.   Amberlee over  at the Giver’s Log created these labels to go on jars filled with pesto she made.  You can find the download for the labels, here.

I love illustrations.!!!!  I love to see different artist’s style and the way they use color.  Over at They Draw, They Cook  you get to see many artists work on a daily basis with recipes.  I love soup and could live on soup and Panera French baguettes all year long.  With fall coming – soup season – this Sausage and Lentil Soup has my name all over it.

The Trendy Girl posted this very clever, fun idea.  It makes you realize how easy it is to repurpose items – even a well- worn  hoodie to carry your laptop in a jif.

I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.  See you back here on Monday.

My best – Diane

Diane,

I’m glad you’re home and your features are great, love the hoodie. Also, the craft cart is just so you, terrific! I’m trying to get busy on Christmas. I have lots to do, so I will try to link up some of my projects in the next month. In the meantime, keep your chin up and have a good weekend.

It’s SO good to be home, isn’t it? Your own shower, your own bed. Ahhhh!! Blessings to you.

I’ll bet you are glad to be home! I know I couldn’t wait to get home from the hospital the two occasions I had to be in {in the past 5 years}. Even though there is more recuperation to be done, I think being in your own home, with your own things, and your family helps it go faster and is better for your overall well-being.
