My Favorite Christmas Decoration

by Diane Henkler on 12/19/2010

Do you remember these votive holders that I have on my kitchen windowsill?

Decorating with candles for the holidays

They are called Kosta Boda Snowballs.  Their tag line – Created In The Snow Of The Seventies by Ann Warff.  I have collected 8 over the years. I love them!

I was recently shopping at HomeGoods to buy some goodies using a $50.00 gift-card that I won in the HomeGoods Mom Cave contest that Kate at Centsational Girl had. (Thanks again Kate – I had fun on my shopping spree.)

If you are familiar with HomeGoods you know that as soon as you walk into the store – china and glassware are to your left.  I usually head there first and browse through the store in a clockwise direction.  On the first shelf I looked at I saw one of these snowballs. I got pretty excited as I haven’t seen one in a long time and figured it was meant to be since I just posted about them.   I happily placed it in my basket and continued shopping to see what I else I could find to spend the $50 on.

Decorating with candles for the holidays

Since it is a “snowball” you can leave it up all winter long – not just for the holidays.

Holiday Candle holder ideas

I would love to find a few more – will just have to keep searching.

I can’t believe you posted today about the snowballs. I remembered your post before and wrote down the name of the manufactuer. I just looked on Amazon today and saw that they had the single ones or a pack of 3 – each a different size. I didn’t have the money to purchase today, but maybe I’ll get some Christmas cash – or better yet, win your giveaway! wow, that would be nice and how sweet of you to do something like that. Christmas Blessings to you and yours.

My mom has several of the snow balls and I have about 6 Kosta Boda bowls, so I’ll let others win the snowballs. How much, at Home Goods, were they? Just curious. This is very generous of you since it’s going to cost a fortune to ship. Oh wait…you probably know this but get a USPS box that it will fit in and there will be a max shipping of $10-15. They are the flat rate boxes.

Your window display is gorgeous. Katharine
