Have you seen the 2012 HGTV Dream Home yet? It is in Park City, Utah. The great room is GREAT –spectacular actually in my book. The only thing that keeps it from being truly “perfect” – it’s not mine.
The mix of stone, windows, and the white and blue accents sing to me. It is just the right combination of traditional and modern -not trendy at all. The design team did such a fabulous job – I want to move right in.
I could look at these photos for hours gathering inspiration, but I have to get back into shopping, baking, and wrapping mode. How is your holiday prep going? Is all merry and bright? If you need a bit of stress relief – take a break and enjoy these photos.
You can see the rest of the HGTV Dream Home 2012 over on their site. The giveaway to win this spectacular home starts on December 29 at 9PM EST.

I LOVE this house. I saw a special on it, and I fell in LOVE with it. In my dreams….
It is very pretty, love the stone walls. A few years ago when they built a house in Texas a group of my girlfriends and I packed up one day and went to see it. It was spectacular! But the sad part, and I hear this happens often. The people who won it had very little and could not maintain a house like this. They ended up selling it for nothing I read, just so they could get some money. It was on a beautiful setting on a lake. I wanted it soooo badly! Love the designer they use!
OMGosh I love it .. and that side table I need to find one of them….
It’s stunning.
Have a good one ann/alba
I’m definitely entering now – this is beautiful!
Oh WOW!!! It is magnificent – maybe we could have our next PSMM blog workshop there :) Really though, all of the stone and the windows are beautiful. The color palette and fabrics aren’t trendy but classic and still modern – completely agree with you Diane. I’ll have to check out the rest of the photos. Merry Christmas to you and your family Diane! So glad our paths crossed this year and that I have a true blog friend in real life too!
Spectacular house. If I were to win it, I would immediately put it on the market to sell… don’t want to live in Utah, and I could not begin to afford the upkeep and don’t even think about me cleaning that big house and those windows! Which get’s me to my point…. I want the money to afford the house, but not the house. If I were extremely rich, I would want futuristic windows… NO drapes, NO blinds, just windows that with the flip of a switch, would go from clear to private. Any fabric would be only for sensory pleasure…. or to suit my mood, not for privacy on a window or passageway. Does that make sense?
Does anyone know where to purchase the beautiful white end tables in the Great Room?
