I Have a Secret Blog Crush on You! Link Party

Before this party gets started I just want to say

I hope it is a sweet one!

If you are reading this, then I bet you 100% that you love reading blogs as much as I do. I find I enjoy them more than magazines!!! That fact, alone – amazes me since I used to be such a magazine junkie.

I am now a blog junkie. I can’t get enough.  I love when I see or read about a creative idea, learn something new, or a blogger opening up about themselves and their life.   I love reading all about them, their style, triumphs and tribulations.  There is not a blog that I don’t love in this DIY Home Decorating & Crafts niche.  I get excited every time a new post pops up in my reader no matter what blog it is. I know that I am going to be inspired.

I have been lucky to have been able to go to a few blog events and meet up with a few fellow bloggers.  You don’t get that with a magazine – connection!  We learn, live, converse, and enjoy each other in blog world – that is what sets it apart.  Each of us has a unique voice and vision that we share with each other and the world.

To help celebrate Valentine’s Day this year I thought it would be nice to post not about ourselves or projects, but to spread a bit of love around and write about another blog or blogger that you enjoy or want to share with others.  Or perhaps you want to introduce us to a new blog.  As long as your post is about another blog(s) or blogger(s)- you can link it up here.

I Have a Secret Blog Crush on You Link Party

There are so many blogs that I love and enjoy reading each and every day, but these are three blogs that I am smitten with.   They are completely different from each other, but that is what makes them so interesting – their uniqueness.

Chic Coastal Style Blog

I am a water loving girl, plus even though I don’t have the budget for it right now, I do love fashion and clothes.  Desiree’s does all of them in a clean cut style that is not too casual or too glam. Just right for my taste and sensibility.  What I dream about – I can always find over at Chic Coastal Living.

One of my favorite series that Desiree does from time to time is –This and That posts like the one below.  She finds an outfit to pair up with a beautifully decorated room with a water view.  Totally indulgent daydreaming of stylish beach side living from all aspects.  It is fun to imagine yourself living so stylishly moving about in the room with a certain outfit on.  Sheer fantasy.  It is a little like playing paper dolls, but with an interior decorating factor thrown in.

She also posts beautiful images of many of my favorite things and colors like these peonies that just sing to me.  I find I am always pressing the “Pin” button in my browser when I am reading her posts.

Her photos of the day are – d-r-e-a-m-y and I find myself wishing I could win the lottery so I could enjoy one of these views in real life.

Reading Chic Coastal Living is my fantasy indulgence.  When I need to come back down to the real world, I head on over to where style still reigns, but with a different point of view.

the Lettered Cottage header

Most of you know The Lettered Cottage where Layla and Kevin push their passion to the next level.  Are they not the cutest couple, EVER?

They are so talented and photogenic, plus their camera skills are PRO-fessional, plus their Photoshop skills are STEL-lar, plus their personalities just SHINE in their posts and video. Oh! and did I mention their awesome sense of STYLE?  If you read their blog, you know why I am crushing on it.

I love how they mix things up and let it flow. One of my favorite posts was when they were on their Denver Road Trip and stopped along the way at The Pioneer Woman’s House. While Layla is giving us a tour of the house, she walks back into the main room where she finds Kevin playing his guitar and loving the acoustics of the large room. She secretly keeps the video going and tapes Kevin in his element playing his guitar and singing.  I found myself applauding at the end I was so entertained.

I remember winning one of their giveaways last year.  Layla wrote a sweet note that meant more to me than what I won. I still have it as someday when she is famous beyond our DIY blogging niche, I will have this teeny part of her.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for them that their pilot show gets picked up by the HGTV network. That would be one sweet Valentine for them.  XO

They not only inspire me design wise, but with their photography skills, too.  I am eagerly awaiting for Kevin’s launch of his site to learn more about photography along with Layla’s Photoshopping skills!

Speaking of Photoshopping skills I wish I had.  When I need some artful inspiration I head on over to visit

Pinecone-Place blog

Pinecone Blog

I remember the first time I stumbled upon Ashlyn’s blog, Pinecone about a year ago. I was just amazed at the composition and artful arrangements of each of her posts. She has some serious Photoshop skills, too.  Her posts are always styled and fresh. Each post is like a work of art.  She posts about her love of design, food, and her three daughters who show up frequently in her posts.  She is living real life day in and day out and shares it all beautifully with her readers.

Pinecone blog

She recently moved from the west coast to New York state.  She is going to be in OCNJ on vacation this summer.  I hope she won’t mind me looking for her on the beach so that I can finally meet her.

You’re right Diane, blogging has so many wonderful benefits. I’m so glad I had the chance to meet both you and Shannon in person. Meeting other bloggers in person is such a wonderful experience and truly extends that blogger bond and friendship. I found some new blogs in your post today – thank you! Hope you have a great day!

Hi Holly – Did you see that someone linked a favortie blog into the link. The blogger is from Phila. We will have to contact her and say Hi! She may even want to be part of PSMM.

Wow!!! I just went on my blog this morning and saw all of these hits coming from your blog, so I came over to see what was going on – and I am completely in shock Diane. You have such an amazing blog with ideas that inspire me (and everyone else) every day. Your posts on staging a house, the Tuna can lantern, clothespin starburst mirror – just to name a few of my favorites! That you would take the time to say such nice things about my blog really means so much to me, and really shows what a generous blogger and person you are!
Thank you so much for the support and thanks for making my Valentine’s Day so sweet ; ) !

Do I post my blogger friend’s name and her email address on the link? At first I thought you meant mine…… will redo it now, cause I think I did it wrong.

Really love this idea, Diane. I had so much fun writing about my favorite blog (Wabi-Sabi Home and Garden). Like you, I get my reading fixes from blogs more than magazines these days. While I love taking a print mag in the bathtub, you can’t beat blogs for the loads of content and for the connection with others. I’ve learned so much from other bloggers.

  6. Sheryll & Critters. says

I love this, your blog too, but guess I won’t shawre it on your own blog…… grin.
