Round 3 Your Picks. Your Place: Home Office

Today is the unveiling of the new round of design boards for the Your Picks. Your Place Sweepstakes. Each round showcases a different room. For this round Home Offices are up for voting.  But before I tell you about the Coastal Escape Home Office I picked furnishings for, I want to announce the winner of the $100 HomeGoods gift card giveaway from last week.

Now to the 3rd round of voting.   I was given the Coastal Escape theme to pick furnishings for a  Home Office.  Since I am a beach loving girl this was a fun room to go shopping for.

Here is what I would want my coastal home office to look like.  The most important element for me – the water view out the window! That alone would break the budget, but I can dream, can’t I?

I like everything light, airy, and bright and would love to have all of these pieces in my home office in real life. The IKEA shelving unit with glass doors – imagine the organizing possibilities. The Ballard Designs sisal pin board I would use for at a glance inspiration. The Dash and Alpert Aruba Stripe rug just makes me smile.  The Martha’s Vineyard sign adds a pop of solid color to the room, but the real reason for adding it to the design is that it would remind me to slow down and not rush through my day. Life on the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket – blissful.   My favorite find is the desk chair. It reminds me of an old fashioned beach chair – the kind with the woven straps.  Now all I need to make this home office just perfect is the addition of a fragrance diffuser, one with the smell of Coppertone suntan lotion wafting from it.
