This week is My Colorful Life week at Glidden. Each day this week they will be showcasing one color. Today is green day.
When I think of green, I think botanical, water, nature. Green is calming and green goes with every color on earth– just think of any color flower – what color is the stem? – green. Green + any color = perfection in my book. I use quite a bit of it in my house.
Glidden is asking people and that includes you – my wonderful readers to submit colorful photos to their Facebook page and to Pin your favorite color photos to Pinterest using the hashtag #MyColorfulLife this week. At the end of the week they will compile the photos into a large mosaic to celebrate color.
Images that you submit can be of anything – a flower, room you’ve painted, a nature scene, etc. – anything you find beautiful or inspiring. Here are a few of my favorite decorating images that I have collected over the the years with green as the focal color. Do you see how it goes with every color – rust, blue, black, orange, pink are just a few! Change that rust light in photo #1 or the wall color in photo #4 to any color and the rooms will look just as good.

So submit your color inspiration this week over on Glidden’s Facebook page. Be sure to include the hashtag #MyColorfulLife so Glidden can find it and you might see your image included in their master mosaic.
I have partnered with Glidden/ Akzo Nobel Paints to participate in the The MyColortopia program but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Hi Diane, Sounds like a fun project…however, Glidden’s terms make it hard for me to participate…I mean “the universe” is a really big place and “perpetuity” is a long time! “All User Submissions are submitted to AkzoNobel, not to Facebook. By submitting a User Submission, you grant to AkzoNobel an irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, non-exclusive, fully-paid, worldwide, license (sublicensable through multiple tiers) to use the User Submission (or any modification), in whole or in part, for any purpose and in any manner in its sole discretion, and to use those rights in perpetuity in all media now or hereafter known at any time throughout the Universe.”
The photo in the bottom right hand corner of the first group of pictures…it looks like a valance made from stirps of fabric knotted over a curtain rod. Is that right? Is it yours? I like it an am curious about how much fabric the project would take.
thanks

Hi Stephanie – I made the valance and posted about it over on Momtastic.com. I do a weekly DIY post every Friday there. Here is the link to the tutorial for it.

Diane,
Thank you for the follow-up. I will be making these for my kitchen windows.
Diane,
Just a note to let you know that the little curtains turned out adorable. I don’t have a blog, so I couldn’t send a link for you to see, but I am very happy. Thank you for the info.
