I have been busy – busy doing other things and not spending the time I usually do working on DIY projects. I feel a bit guilty, but my “busyness” now is only going to help make this blog better down the road.
I signed up to take a course called, The Girls Guide to Web Design. I cannot tell you how much this course is helping me with the back end of my blog. I have no intention of hanging a blog designing shingle, but I do want to be able to do everything on my blog myself, back end included. Up until now, I have had to hire others to do the work I didn’t understand how to do myself.
So in true DIY fashion, I signed up for the online course to teach me how. I have been wanting to take the course for some time, but it was not cheap. It was not until Ed asked me to create a website for him that I knew the time was right to dive in. So far so good. He thinks I am a web site designing rock star. In truth, I am pretty clueless, just learning as I go.
Since I have been spending time on the back end of things, the current project I am working on is not yet complete. Here is a sneak peek.
I am banishing the brown.
I do, however have a few stylish things that I want to share with you.

For the rest of you that didn’t win Jenny Doh’s book, Creative Lettering, I have found a few handwriting videos to share with you that may help inspire anyone wanting to tune-up their handwriting. My daughter’s friend, Wilma, who is still serving in the Peace Corps in Africa and reads my blog – passed this along to me…
Thanks Wilma.
How to Write Copperplate – note the slanted lines he uses to keep the letters angled the right way.
These are only a small sampling of videos showing different styles of handwriting and lettering – head on over to YouTube and put in the search bar “handwriting” to find tons more.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile, then you know I have a big blog crush on Heather Bullard. I want to be Heather when I grow up. She produces a magazine called Souvenir. The Spring issue will be out on March 11th. I am not getting paid to promote this – I just love Heather, her blog, photography, style, and how she is living her dream. You can purchase online and print versions.
