As you know, life for me has been a little hectic. A few of you who have recently been through the moving process have written to me about how stressful it could get, but to hang in there. Life will resume to normal soon.
When we were on our house hunting trips we were lucky that we felt the gracious hospitality of friends along the way. They opened up their homes to us and made us feel like family, pampered, well-fed and rested. It all added up to a good time and stress relief.
Over the course of our travels, there were a few nights that we needed to stay in hotels. One town was Columbia, SC. Ed had business in Columbia so we stayed at a Sleep Inn® hotel there so he could attend a meeting. We then took some time to go sightseeing since this will become the largest city our new home will be near.
Our house settles in early December and we’ll have about a week until we settle on the new one in mid December. We will need to stay in a hotel again during that time that we will be homeless. We will be happy to stay in the same hotel we did a few weeks ago. I have stayed in many hotels and can’t say enough about the hospitality of the people at the Sleep Inn® hotel in Columbia, SC who made our stay there so nice.
This particular Sleep Inn® hotel serves warm cookies in the afternoon at check-in.
Coffee and tea anytime we needed it and the perfect place to snooze/rest 24-7.
During our stay, I used the super comfy plush bed as my workstation. I felt like I was at home since the all-white bedding was just like I have at home and the room bright and cheery.
Ed got up early to work to prepare for his meeting and…
brought me breakfast in bed both mornings. :-)
It was a nice feeling. If you love that feeling of being pampered then you will like what Sleep Inn® hotels try to do for their guests. That snuggled getting-to-stay-in-bed-late feeling.
With Daylights Savings moving us one hour back the weekend we stayed there…we got one hour of extra sleep. Sleep Inn® hotels try to make this feeling come to life in their hotels every day of the year. It was a nice treat.
Now that we are home, my life has become 24/7 packing up rooms into boxes and bags. Even when I try to get sleep, my mind is racing. I keep thinking about what still needs to be packed and the logistics of the move.
I am looking forward to getting a good nights rest once the whole moving process is behind us. :-)
