Happy Monday everyone. I hope you had a nice weekend.
I took time off last week to enjoy a visit from my youngest, Mandy and her boyfriend, Daniel. We fit in everything we planned to do and made sure we had plenty of downtime to sit back and relax. My sister, Carol gave me the for Christmas.
On Friday when I took this picture with my phone, the 85 degree weather and action on the lake made it feel like June. It was the perfect day. It did rain all day on Sunday and it still is, plus the temp today is back to an average April temp of 65.
Mandy and Daniel left yesterday :-( and now I am back into my DIY zone… and so is Ed. AKA my very own Chip Gaines. Do you remember when we made over the powder room off the kitchen last summer? Ed surprised me late one night when he started to demo the vanity in the room without me knowing he was going to do it. I could not be happier with how that powder room came out. We repurposed a sideboard that was my grandmother’s into a sink vanity.
Yesterday after Mandy and Daniel left, I went about getting wash done and some other household chores when I heard smashing and cracking wood.
Lo and behold, when I went to find the source of the noise, I found Ed had made history of the vanity in the second floor bathroom! A new vanity I had ordered for an upcoming blog series with other bloggers, called Color Lovers was delivered on Friday. Ed took the fact that the new vanity had arrived as the starting whistle for the makeover.
How do you like the 1970’s chic patchwork wallpaper that was exposed when the mirror was removed? There is even some peach scallop wallpaper showing on the sides. The history of a room revealed. :-)
I will keep you updated on the progress. Stay tuned.
Enjoy your Monday.
