What have you been up to so far this last week of August? I bet a lot of you have been shopping for back to school, right? I have been shopping too, but not for school. I am trying to get a jump on my holiday shopping this year and have started early so that once the holidays roll around, I am in control and can relax and enjoy the season instead of rushing around trying to get everything done.
Do you like to start your holiday shopping in the summer or even shop continuously all year round?
I find when I shop all year long, the gifts I give are more thoughtful and suited for each person on my list. When you rush and try to get it done in a few days, you may not be able to give personalized or perfect gifts for everyone. When I bring my purchases home I place them in a big basket I keep in the corner of my guest room. The only problem with this is that items like the pillows I just got to give my daughters and Ed’s goddaughter are too big for my basket.
Later today I will be making one side of the closet in my new fitness room into a “Gift Closet” so it can hold the large as well as small gifts I buy all year long.
The personalized pillows I got are from Tiny Prints. Did you know they sell more than pretty cards and stationery? They have home decor items that you can personalize with dozens of options? If you love fonts and monograms like I do, then you will have fun with all the fonts and wish you could have them all on your home computer to use every day. The pillow in the above photo is called Forever Dots in Clover.
The big blue and white pillows are called Tribal Spirit. Since I can’t show you how they are going to look in both my daughters’ apartments, I placed them on my guest room bed. One for each of my daughters. I picked the colors that would go with their bedroom in their apartments. The colors are called Cupcake and Coral. I had them made up with a basic letter font, but there are dozens of plain and fancy fonts to choose from to suit your style.
The center pillow is of Ed’s goddaughter’s baby, Peyton. I took the photo of her with my iPhone when I was feeding her when we traveled to meet her earlier this summer. The pillow is called Sprinkled Dots. It will go nicely in their family room or even in Peyton’s bedroom. I just want to kiss her all up. XO
When I saw this Vibrant Diamonds pillow I had to have it for myself – it is just my style. I call it a gift from me to me. I could have had it personalized, but I liked it just the way it was. It comes in 5 different colorways, this color is called Begonia.
We place mail and packages on this bench. The addition of the pillow gives the space a pop of color that I love to see.
GIVEAWAY is over. Winner is: Amy B.
