I am posting a quick hello to you this Mother’s Day weekend. If you enjoy my blog, posts and projects, you have one person to thank…. my mom.
She is no longer living, but she had a huge influence on me and my designing life. You can read all about her in this post: What My Momma Used to Say. I miss her lots and all that she did to make sure my siblings and I were well loved, nurtured, and cared for.
Ed had a business meeting in NYC on Saturday and I tagged along with him. It was a misty hazy day, but we still got a chance to stroll around the city and Central Park after his meeting.
On Sunday – Mother’s Day, I plan to enjoy the day at home, plant a few flowers around my yard and get to enjoy an alfresco lobster, steak, and grilled corn on the cob dinner that Ed has planned. I am looking forward to that.
My daughters live too far away to come home for the weekend, but they did send me a lovely bouquet of tulips. It was a nice surprise and one that looks beautiful in a glass vase on my kitchen island.
I couldn’t resist snapping this photo as I passed by a flower shop in NYC today.
If you need a last minute gift for your mom, how about a bouquet of her favorite flowers along with a gift card from a local florist or supermarket so she can buy her favorite blooms a few more times all year long.
For all the Moms out there… I hope you have a lovely Mother’s Day….enjoy XO
