Yay it’s Friday!
I tend to get into weekend mode early…like as soon as I wake up every Friday morning. I think it is the excitement and expectation of what the weekend ahead holds.
I have exciting plans this weekend, but one may be postponed because of a pending snow storm. :-(
I signed up to attend one of Miss Mustard Seed’s paint workshops on Saturday. She lives about 2 hours away from me, a doable drive, but I have a feeling I may be getting an email saying it will be postponed to next Saturday. I am watching the weather forecast and hoping the snow storm fizzles out. Either way, once I attend, I will post all about it.
If the workshop does get postponed, I will be heading to my basement to once and for all whip it into a haven of blissful organization. One with perfectly stacked and labeled boxes and nothing on the floor. The last time I did it, it was more of a rearranging session. This time it is going to be a MAJOR purge! It may take me more than one weekend, but when it is done my project productivity level will triple since I won’t have to spend so much time finding the supplies I need.
If you have been following the makeover of one of my grown daughter’s bedrooms into a fitness room, I want to show you what I did on the windows.
I wrote about the super affordable window treatments I added to the room in my latest post over on the True Value DIY Blog Squad blog….
You can read all about the roll-up blinds I used along with the tutorial showing how easy it was to hang them. Like 1.2.3… easy!
I love how they look and may start adding them to a few more windows in my house.
Happy Weekend! I hope it is a good one for you.
I found your site this morning and read quite a few of your posts. I would like to subscribe but am unable to enter my email address in the subscription area; the box form won’t accept any text. Hope you can add me with the information below. Thank you.
Hi Willafay – Thanks for taking the time to tell me this. I will have to get my tech person to look into it. I signed you up on my end, so you will start receiving my posts in your inbox. Thanks for subscribing.
Thank you for the great tip. Here in Texas the sun is always a big issue in our home. Hopefully these will look great and keep the heat out.
These are perfect for any room. I love them.
I’m SOLD. I have used one of these before outside to block the glare of the morning sun at certain times of the year…. oh please let me find the sizes I need. Well, it seems they have NO True Value in all of Jax….. how depressing. I was so very happy to find these again….. oh well.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve been a fan for quite some time, but usually don’t look at any posts on the TV site since their site doesn’t play well with my tablet. However, I’ve been looking for some blinds for a bedroom with a wide window in our home. The cost was going to be a killer. I had even toyed with the idea of trying to mount 2 separate shades in the window, but knew it would leave a gap in the middle and the idea of trying to line both shades up exactly the same in that 1 window would drive me nuts. I read through how easy your installation was and went back to TV’s website hoping that since these were geared for a porch they would have wider widths. I am so excited to find just what I need and for less than $25 I can have the shades that this room needs. I love your think outside tithe box attitude to home décor and your willingness to share. Thanks again!
Thanks Jeanne – For some reason the TV website gives off warnings. I have told them about this and know they try to figure out the cause. I think it is the way they create their product links.
When I look for things to decorate with, I always try to look for affordability and style. When I find both of these in an item – it is a winner in my book. :-)
Great post on window treatments! (link worked for me :)

Thanks for sharing this Diane. I also wanted to note that I rather liked the new buttons for “no sew decor”and “window treatments”.
Hi Stephanie – Thanks – I was not sure if anyone would notice. I will be adding more. I an hoping they help readers find what they are looking for.
…and there’s another great idea from Diane! I have the perfect place for that…thanks! ;)
I too love these roll up blinds! I used this type in our former home office. So easy so simple and easy to clean :-) Sometimes the simplest things are the best.
Hi Connie – I agree. Enjoy your weekend.
I could not access your post at True Value about the blinds. I was warned that hackers were trying to access my info. I know you are working on this but thought you might want to know. Any chance you could post this on your site? It seems safe at this point. Thanks. Look forward to your blog.
Hi Karen – Thanks for telling me. I noticed it too. I will remove the link and replace it with one that you can cut and paste into your browser. The True Value site is fine to go to, but not though the link I had. Here is how to see my post.

Once you get there, scroll down a bit and you will see my post. Sorry for the problem.
