With all that I have been up to the past few weeks and no projects to show you just yet, I thought I would post something I haven’t done in awhile…a Friday Favorites post.
When I haven’t been purging, packing, and staging this week, I have been….
…of a room like this with a high ceiling that is bright and white with gold mirrors to reflect the light.
In the evenings when I am too tired to think anymore, I sit and search the waterfront real estate sites. I find I am drawn to the homes that have cathedral ceilings with posts and beams. When I saw this room in Sarah Dorsey’s house… I pinned it immediately knowing that this is the look I want in my next house. I love the open airiness of the space.
If you have been to Sarah’s blog then you know she has major talent! To see more of this room and all the other stellar designs she has created and posted about, head over to Sarah Dorsey’s blog, here.
When autumn arrives my nesting instinct kicks into full-gear. As I start to close and cozy up the house, (even though we are selling it, I still have to live in the house until we physically move). I like to use essential oils to make it smell good. Check out these Fall Home scent recipes for mixing essential oils that will make your home smell as cozy as it looks and feels.
I have been looking for a white lamp for my desk. I liked one that IKEA sells, but it was too big. I recently stumbled upon this one from Parrot Uncle for $45. I like its styling and that the height can be adjusted. It will go nicely with my new office chair.
Has your mailbox been filled this week with home decorating catalogs filled with fall merchandise? Mine has. I have been flipping through them when I sit down to eat my lunch. These nesting tables intrigued me. I don’t need them, but dog-earred the page to consider… maybe for my next house since they can go with just about anything,
I think September 1st should be called New Year’s Day. I know it stems from all the years of getting a fresh start when the new school year began while I was growing up.
As I have been purging, I have also been trying to organize all my ideas and blog post projects. I use a file folder system to keep track of all my planned posts along with ones I am currently working on. I keep them in a basket file by my desk. Most office supply stores sell many colors of file folders, but not pink. I was excited to find these pink long tab file folders. Now my file basket will look chic & pink and hopefully will keep me inspired to keep my file basket organized, and in turn make me, more productive.
Earlier this summer when I was buying sunscreen, the salesperson who was ringing up my purchase threw a bunch of sample products into my shopping bag. This Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream by Shiseido was one of them. I am a MAJOR skin care junkie and enjoy trying samples to find products that make a difference, most don’t make the cut.
I started using the sample of this cream a few weeks ago and…I love it! It is thick, but not greasy. My skin feels soft and smooth right away. I can see a difference which is pretty remarkable as most products don’t seem to make a big difference. This is going to make it into my daily skin care regimen.
I will be back on Monday with one of the biggest projects ever done in my house. See you then….
Happy Weekend!

Diane,
You inspire me everytime I read your updates! We too plan to move my the water and although I am not purging and sprucing yet, I am getting so much from following your journey and can’t wait to see where your new home will be located! Love the file folder thing, I am going to use that for the class I am revamping!!!
Thanks again!
