Every October I have a ritual to take the screens out of all the windows around my house. Yesterday was the day I did this. As I was cleaning the windows in my daughter’s room and looked outside, I saw how pretty the burning bush looked that lines the end of my driveway. I had to go grab my camera so I could take a photo of it as it only stays red like this for a short time in the fall.
It is usually green and in the Winter- just bare branches.
I went outside to get another shot. Looks like Christmas with all the red and green. Well little did I know…
Just how much it was going to look like Christmas not even 12 hours later!!! The burning bush got squashed by the freak October snow we received here on the east coast today. Snow in October in Pennsylvania – doesn’t happen.
Maybe they will bounce back up, but I am afraid every last red leaf will be gone by tomorrow. :(
Happy Halloween !
