My youngest daughter came home from college this weekend and was itching to go junking. I had not planned on doing so, but she is only going to be home for 2 weeks, so I decided, why not, it was a beautiful day, so off we went. It was my first treasure hunt of the season. We went to five yard sales. Most had lots of kids toys and clothes, but the best one we found wasn’t advertised in the paper, we just saw it as we drove by. That is where I got the urn and the jars. I didn’t want to spend too much, but did snag a few deals for myself.
This blue canning jar was $1.50. There were a few different types, but I liked this one best.
I am so excited about theses baskets… I have plan for them. You are going to have to wait and see.
I collect white plates and pottery. This urn was only $2.00 I can use it as is…no transformation required. I already have found a home for it.
I have no idea what I am going to do with these, but I could not pass them up at $1.00 for a bag full.
I think these lights- never used, were from Target. A real steal at $3. They seem to be unwanted as there is a Goodwill sticker on the box with the price of $6.99. I plan to hang them on my pergola. I think they will look rather festive at night.
50 cents… looks like something I would buy at Pottery Barn for about $18.00. Gosh, I just love a good junking find.
A metal dishwasher basket that was also 50 cents. I think I may use it in my studioffice.
I can’t pass up vintage earrings, I make other things with them- like bracelets. If you haven’t seen the details for my bracelet giveaway, you can check, here.
As you can see, the urn has found a home housing hand-towels in my foyer bath. Looks pretty against the flowered wallpaper don’t cha think? I am thrilled with this new addition. I think it was my best junking find of the day.
I get some of my best ideas at night, so I always have a pen and paper on my nightstand. The blue jar looks perfect in my blue and white bedroom.
I had a fun day junking with my daughter – we already have plans to go to the once monthly flea market next Saturday in Cedars, Pa. The stuff there is usually a little pricey, but it will still be fun and you never know what you may stumble upon. Have you found any great deals lately?
