To start your weekend reading, I have 3 things to share with you. The first is about paint, the second about my husband Ed, and the third is a giveaway that I think you will love as much as I do.
No. 1 Paint Inspiration
If you love to find decorating inspiration in the way of paint, then you are going to love the new series over on My Colortopia called Smart Projects. There you will find paint projects that can be done in one weekend with minimal cost that will have a big impact on your surroundings. Or as the folks at My Colortopia say… the smarter way to WOW!
I transformed my nightstand using Rich Navy and a decorative furniture makeover trick I like to use to make me look like a decorative painter. You can read how I did it, here. To see all the Smart Projects – check them out, here.
- The walls are stenciled using Royal Design Studios – Large Marrakesh Moroccan Trellis Stencil. You can also find one similar on Amazon, here.
No. 2 Help for People who are Blind
Anyone who has followed me for a while, knows of my husband’s early retirement from Merck. He has completely reinvented himself as The Blind Guide, dedicated to improving quality of life and the employability of people who are blind or visually impaired. He has even published his first eBook, Blindness: Coping with Vision Loss. It’s filled with resources for people who are losing their sight, including some amazing new technology.
If you know of anyone dealing with blindness or caring for someone who is, please spread the word about his site and eBook, Blindness: Coping With Vision Loss. We would really appreciate it! XOXO
Did you know that Emily Henderson of HGTV fame has a decorating book that just came out? It is titled, Styled and is available on Oct 19th. You can buy/order, here.
It is the ultimate guide to thinking like a stylist, with 1,000 design ideas for creating the most beautiful, personal, and livable rooms.
What I like best about it is her use of color, the way she repurposes, and best of all how she will help you to make your own style magic!
Congratulations to the winner of Styled by Emily Henderson:
