Do you have any plans to paint this weekend?
If you do, the May issue of HGTV magazine has lots of inspiration for you. It is filled with ideas using paint, along with new tools, tips, and creative DIY painting projects to help you imprint your style on just about anything. Let’s dive in to see some HGTV painting ideas shall we?
I love paint in all forms since it is the most affordable and fastest way to add impact to your decor. If you have a project you have been wanting to do and just need a little nudge, this issue might inspire you to get it done.
I am proud to share with you that one of the paint projects that I posted about here on my blog is in the magazine.
The interchangeable backdrop I painted for my kitchen shelves is in a Glidden advertising spread along with 3 other painting projects from fellow My Colortopia bloggers.
In every can of paint, there is a makeover waiting to happen. If you happen to grab a brush to paint anything this weekend, follow me on Instagram @InMyOwnStyle and share a photo of your project by tagging me #InMyOwnStyle
Happy Weekend
I hope it is a colorful one :-)

I love them all. I spotted your colorful backdrop right away. And I love those striped planter/pots. I wish I was ready to paint, but I have WAY too much prep work to do first. And forgive me for asking maybe again……… but I want to strip the many awful layers of peeling paint off my baseboards, so what stripper would you recommend? I can take them outside on my carport, so if cheap good? I started thinking, which would be cheaper, replace or strip and paint the old ones…… so wanting to strip them I think……. see how indesicive I am ……… I think stripping would be cheaper for me.

Hi Sheryll – Sorry I didn’t get to your question sooner. It has been a busy week for me. :-) I have used many strippers and now only use Citra-Strip. It is the best – no smell and easy to use. I buy it at Walmart. I like and use the spray can the most, but it does come in a bottle. Since it is less toxic, it does take about 8 -24 hours to remove the paint. Let it do its thing and you will be rewarded with easy removal – the paint will lift right off.
