Insta-Style: Beach Sarong

I have another installment of Insta-Style for you today. This week I am featuring a beach sarong. If you are new here, I started a weekend series where I share a simple project for which no tutorial is needed.

You may not own the same items I show in the posts, but I am hoping that the ideas will inspire you to look at everything around you with new eyes and ask yourself…”what if?” to come up with your own Insta-Style decorating ideas.

What do you get when you put your summer beach sarong and a sofa together?

A way to chase the winter blues AWAY!

Why keep a bright and cheery seasonal item like a beach sarong hidden away in a drawer all winter when it can brighten up a room when placed over the arm of an upholstered seat in the same way you would toss a throw blanket. It may not be good to snuggle with, but it sure will add some needed color therapy to your room on a grey winter’s day.

    1. Thanks Amy – The sofa is slipcovered. I got the slipcover from Ugly Sofa dot com. They sell Pottery Barn seconds for $29. It is a throw over tie-on style that I made cushion covers for. I posted about it and a cover I made for an ottoman, you can find the posts here:

  1. Oh I love this……. now where in the world did I put mine (that I never used, but loved the colors)????

  2. This is a great idea, and I’m inspired. Easy to implement, but something I would not have thought to do. I admire your creativity!
