Style Scouting: Vol. 102

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Happy Sunday, friends! This past week I had many plans and hoped to finish a furniture makeover and post it, but life had other plans.

First, I tested positive for Covid last weekend. First time for me. I have been vaccinated and boosted and before Ed and I headed to California 3 weeks ago we got a second booster.

So everything that is said about the new variant is true. I have had mild symptoms that come and go – mostly a sore throat and head cold symptoms.

Secondly, the supplies I needed for a part of the piece of furniture I am making over, were delivered, but were wrong. :-(. I had to return and order again, luckily I got the replacement yesterday so I am back at it today and will share with you this week.

I hope your weekend is going well. Be happy – Enjoy the day!

  1. I wish that we had house guests like the one in the photo here in Australia!

I love that house renovation! We just finished renovating my husband’s childhood home and moved in at the end of last year. I used William Morris wallpaper throughout the whole house and love how warm and “lived in” it makes it feel. You can see the transformation as I documented it on Instagram- 1957ranchrenovation. It was such a fun project!

Hi Christy – What a fun renovation to take on! It looks beautiful – you put a lot of thought and love into it. I love all the colors you used. I am sure you heard from your husband about the house and fond memories of each room he had as you were renovating. :-).

      1. Christy Keyton says:

Yes, we both had lots of memories from the house. And we inherited some beautiful pieces of furniture. It was a lot of work, but we love the result.

  3. It’s not if, it’s when…my husband and I are both recovering as well. Luckily pretty mild as we have had all shots and boosters 💜.
Love these links…thanks for sharing and feel better🌼

Hi Lynn – Agree – if not now – when? Ed has not gotten yet or my younger daughter. I read a new term for them – Covid Virgins :-) Everyone else in my family has had it. I hope you are feeling better.

  4. Sorry you got COVID at this late date! Hope you are feeling 100% better soon.
The blinds look like a good deal, I’ve seen them for so much more other places. Bamboo blinds have been stylish for so long now. Do you think it’s a trend that will continue?

    1. Diane Henkler says:

Thanks Carol – Bamboo blinds are a classic, so they will always be in style. In the house I grew up in my mom used them in the family room. They stayed in place for over 30 years and never looked dated.

  5. Hope you are on the mend & feeling better! My supervisor & 4 other employees in my work zone came down with it last week & I’ve been doing daily tests. Each person has to stay away 5 days from the workplace. So interesting about Old Bay! I do have a tin but only use it on fish. I think I’ll try adding it to chowders & soups.

  6. I’m glad you had all your vaccines so you can get through this safely and quickly. I would love to ride the Glacier Discovery train, a definite on my bucket list. This January I’m going to Iceland with a longtime girlfriend-checking off those bucket list items.
    Be well!

Hi Gail – I feel back to normal. Joe told us about your trip to Iceland. What a fun trip that will be. Have you watched the show on Netflix called, Down to Earth with Zac Ephron? In one of the episodes they tour Iceland. You may enjoy it.
