Style Scouting: Vol. 169

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

This week is Thanksgiving and I am ready. Now I have been trying to focus on getting the house ready and decorated for the Christmas season with my grandchildren in mind. I want to make the house as magical for them as I did for my daughters and as it always was for me growing up.

I want them to feel the magic in the air, but I do have space limitations as I need to keep surfaces clear as we will have two more adults with stuff – devices, etc. living with us for the month. This doesn’t include all the paraphernalia that comes along with a 4-1/2 year old and a 7 month old. :-)

Today I am going to add some holiday decor to the living room that I will post this week.

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

This home has lots of curb appeal, the interior is pretty nice also.

This kitchen renovation.

This home is filled with lots of character and color.

And this house is minimal and neutral in color.

DIY

This unique Christmas decor idea I have never seen before.

This DIY ornament is pretty cute.

I like to use place cards on my table settings. This DIY charger/placemat is also a place card.

A clever way to add your own style to a HomeGoods ottoman.

Food

If you like Chex Mix, this recipe with a fall twist sounds perfect for Thanksgiving snacking.

Try this recipe instead of serving carrots on your Thanksgiving table.

Need to take something to a Thanksgiving gathering? This would be fun to make and enjoyed by all.

Out & About

What are your Thanksgiving traditions?

Gardening

You may want to read this if you have leaves to rake around your house.

Fashion & Beauty

I just got this sporty quilted jacket for my daily walks. I got it in white to coordinate with the different color leggings I wear. It fits true to size.

And for going out, I like this wrap that is perfect to wear for holiday events both dressy and casual.

Fun & Interesting

What it’s actually like to buy an old chateau in France.

How cool would it be to do this!!!! Look at the clarity of the water!!!

Something to Think About

Become an elf this year.

Did you know you could use cooking spray to do all these things?

  • You know I love candles aglow around the house. This pair is perfect for my decorating style!
  • We use these for our outdoor gas grill. I had no idea you could use one to keep the bottom of your oven clean from spills.
  • We have one of these in our hallway. They are so much better than a night light for guests staying overnight or when walking to the bathroom at night.
