Over the past few weeks I have received many comments after posting rooms and decor with lots of color.

Readers are telling me how much they like seeing color. I think everyone is craving color now and looking forward to Spring. I found a few cheery and colorful homes decorated with not only color, but lots of personal style.

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

I love the size of the island in this colorful kitchen renovation.

I have never felt good in a room done in this color. It is coming back into style again for kitchens. I only like flowers in the color.

Enjoy the photo gallery of this custom made home for a former pro football player and his family. I like the unique to their life, cleat wall!

DIY

This DIY lampshade is so very doable.

I love seeing a good before and after thrift store lamp makeover.

Organizing

I like this smart laundry cart hack. I did something similar to a storage basket for my fitness room.

Home Improvement

A couple that took 10 years to update and improve their 1970’s home so they would get it just right.

Food

I agree, this is the only chocolate cake/cupcake recipe you will ever need.

If you like bang bang seasoning, you are going to like it used with this veggie.

A one pan, colorful and flavorful chicken recipe to make for dinner one night this week.

Out & About

I have passed by this home dozens and dozens of time when we go out on the lake on our boat. It is for sale and fun to get a glimpse of what it looks like inside.

I placed a request for a digital copy of this book from my local library. I was 141st in line and wouldn’t get it for at least 4 months. Later that day, I went to the actual brick and mortar library to return a few craft and decorating books I borrowed and when I looked at the “This is Your Lucky Day” section of books by the book checkout, there was the book. :-) Of course I borrowed it, read it in 2 sittings. It was good, a bit sad, but eye-opening. I enjoyed it.

Fashion & Beauty

Ways to use Fashion Tape.

Fun & Interesting

We need to hear about more stories like this in the news.

Something to Think About

It is hard not to catastrophize in this day and age? Here’s how to stop assuming the worst.

A few good reasons you should make time for that hobby you used to enjoy doing.

Thanks June – I alway wondered what the decor looked like in the house everyone on the lakde calls the “Lake Como” house. I do love my house and made it the best for how Ed and I live. Ed is planning to make the sheet pan chicken on Thursday night. :-)

  2. Thank you for such a diverse and interesting collection of treasures to read today. I think I’ve spent too much time, gotta tuck into the rest of it later. Would love to buy that peninsula house on your lake. One can dream! It will be interesting to see what it sells for. Please let us know if you hear the final sell price. Going to try that delicious sounding Greek Sheet-Pan Chicken for dinner one night this week. I need to get busy and start my weekly menu/shopping list. Wasn’t aware Kristin Hannah had another book out. Definitely going to try and get it from the library. Not enough hours in the day to indulge in all my projects and downtime activities. LOL. But so fun trying.

  3. I recently took out a yellow ceramic bowl I had hidden away & placed it on display in my kitchen, so I must be craving colour too! It makes me smile.

  4. I, for what my opinion is worth, love seeing color in kitchens again. I was getting so tired of people using neutrals all the time. This mint green is beautiful. I do like seeing white cabinets on top and colored ones on the base cabinets, or on an island. Some “all white” rooms look beautiful and light and breezy, but I had all-white cabinets before they made the “big time!” I had white cabinets for about 20 yrs and when we remodeled, we put in solid maple cabinets that reached the ceiling. That was 12 yrs ago and we still love them.
We have color on the glass tile backsplash, and color on the walls. Fashion/decor designs change every 20 yrs. I still enjoy the retro look, but I don’t have much in my decor.
