Style Scouting: Vol. 201

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

family in OCNJ

Hello…hello!

Today I am on my way home to South Carolina after spending a week in Ocean City, NJ with my family, including my sisters, brother-in-law and nephew. There were 10 adults and 2 grandkids.

The south Jersey shore town has been a summer vacation destination for my family since I was in elementary school. Through the generations it has held many memories and we want to continue making more… including taking the grandkids to Wonderland to go on the kiddie rides on the boardwalk … the same ones that even I went on as a kid.

So many things have stayed the same in the resort town, but so much has changed, like the homes. All the older smaller homes on the island over the years have been replaced with much larger homes that have been landscaped with an abundance of colorful hydrangeas. They were everywhere!

This is the view on the beach side of the house we stayed in where pink and light purple hydrangeas grew along the bulkhead. They were huge and so lush and full and I found out the reason why… see the link under Gardening to find out the reason. I wanted to take them all home with me.

As much as I enjoyed taking the last 4 weeks off to enjoy family life, it will feel good to be home and settle back into my everyday normal routine this week. Once I unpack, grocery shop and do a few loads of laundry, I plan to get back to finishing a few projects I started back in the spring. So stay tuned. :-)

Now here are the links that I found this week.

That house is gorgeous! I miss the old beach cottages but that house is everything a beach house should be. Loving the hydrangeas this year!
