Happy Valentine’s Day!

It is going to be cold and chilly… one for the Valentine’s Day record books COLD.

Valentine Candle made by melting candle stubs.
Free printable sheet of pink & red hearts.

Time to warm it up with a candlelit dinner for two. :-)

I made this candle after cleaning out a box of candle stubs. I melted the candles, added a wick to a thrift store cut glass jar with a lid and let it cool. Once Valentine’s Day is over I will remove the red velvet ribbon and use the candle in my kitchen.

Do you have anything special planned today – a fun dinner or dessert?

This afternoon I will be on Zoom for a Valentine’s Tea party with my sisters, daughters and granddaughter. It should be fun and the best way to be with them even if it is not in person.

After the tea party, I will make a special dinner for Ed and I and then will probably spend the rest of the evening snuggled under my favorite fur throw and watching Longmire on Netflix, but that is about it.

Decorating

I like this new trend called, “the iconic self.” It’s all about the highlighting of personal style when decorating.

Oh my goodness…. The ceilings in this home. Would love something like them in my dream kitchen, although on a smaller scale.

Home builder boring to WOW worthy furniture transformation.

$113000.00 a month to rent? Is that price a typo?

I have been seeing a lot of door makeovers. This one shows how to go from boring to fab bifold doors.

Could you live in this house? How about this kind of house?

Creative way to easily create large wall art.

Make

I like using paper doilies in my kitchen as well as finding new ways to get creative with them.

A smart home allows homeowners to control appliances, thermostats, lights, and other devices remotely using a smartphone or tablet through an internet connection. Smart homes can be set up through wireless or hardwired systems.

I love the silver bracelet in your photo on this web page, was it a recent purchase?

Hi Wanda – I have been asked about the bracelet a lot since my new photo went up on the blog. I wish I could tell you that my bracelet was a new purchase. I bought it 5 years ago at a mall store call Uno de 50. Here is a link to their site online: https://bit.ly/3pqURAO

The closest I have found so far in searching for one like it is this one: https://bit.ly/3pmvPTv

Thankyou for introducing me to that brand, they have fabulous things! It is the Eres de Mia (translates to You’re Mine)bracelet from Uno de 50. Here is the matching necklace for sale (could maybe be cut down into a bracelet?): https://sheekopeek.com/products/nwt-uno-de-50-silver-square-chunky-ring-chain-eres-mia-short-necklace?_pos=1&_sid=ae1922aad&_ss=r

Happy Valentine’s Day. Thanks for sharing these links. I love the tea party idea. I also like the bird seed treat. I did not know birds could eat coconut oil. So much easier to use than the old recipe using gelatin.

I married into an English family and they definitely walk more. You can walk to the local pub, restaurant, grocery store, local fish & chip shop. Their towns were designed differently than here in the states and most families used to have no car or just one. When they visit, their chins used to drop at the portion sizes here when dining out. They couldn’t believe we have something called “doggy bags”. Gyms are becoming more common over there now though, along with more reliance on cars.
