Time to share a 10-Minute Decorating idea with you. This month the theme is Flowers. Ten other bloggers and I could come up with any decorating idea that used real or fake flowers as long as it could be done in 10 minutes or less. My flower vase decorating idea is a great way to use up small pieces of gift wrap, wallpaper or any decorative paper or even fabric.
I decided to give a seasonal makeover to a cylindrical glass vase. I used real hydrangeas that I bought at the grocery store and paper to give a temporary change to the tall vase I had on my mantel.
I usually keep a pillar style candle in each of these glass cylinder vases. To change things up a little, I removed 2 and kept one…
…and simply placed hydrangeas in it. Simple and pretty. I could leave it just like this, or I can embellish the glass with a few items from my craft supply stash.
How to Wrap a Flower Vase with Burlap, Gift Wrap or Fabric
- I gathered some gift wrap that I found at HomeGoods and paper mesh at Walmart. A box of Glue Dots (one of the best inventions ever) along with some ribbon, string and raffia.
Wrap a Flower Vase With Gift Wrap
I cut the gift wrap 2 inches shorter then the height of the vase and attached it with Glue Dots on the back of the vase.
Presto-change-o…a modern looking vase.
Embellish it more with ribbon to create another look.
Wrap Flower Vase with Burlap for Farmhouse Style
Like farmhouse style? Instead of gift wrap use paper mesh and wrap string, twine or raffia around the vase.
When you tire of one look on your flower vase, you can easily change the cover for the season or a holiday. It is a great way to use up small pieces of gift wrap, wallpaper or any decorative paper or even fabric.
If you don’t have a flower vase like mine, you can still do this on any vase or glass jar as long as it has straight sides. Large pickle jars would work well.
