Fitness Room Artwork

I have a fitness room update to show you.  One that adds a pop of color and motivational spirit to the room. It is making me smile!  If you are unfamiliar with how I carved out a space in my home so that I could work out in a bright and happy area instead of my basement, you can read it here: Dream Vision of My Fitness Room.

I wanted the space to be a clutter-free zone with lots of light.  I painted the walls and trim white, removed the carpet, and painted the subfloor.

Last week I added wall art in the form of 5 canvas prints that spell out “Move It Or Lose It!  Fitness room artwork that motivates!   I ordered them from Tiny Prints.com.  I am hoping the cheery fonts and colors will keep me motivated to work out on a daily basis.

I created each word for the motivational saying in Photoshop and then uploaded them to the Tiny Prints site. I have included a free printable .pdf to download for each word below.

What I like best about the canvases is they are truly personal – making the room truly unique to me.

How to Hang Canvas Print Art

I measured the wall to find the center and placed the “or” canvas at that center point. I then spaced the other canvases on either side, 4-1/2″ apart from each other.

Each print comes with a sawtooth style hook for easy hanging. I used a bubble level to make sure I had each canvas straight.  In less than 10 minutes I had myself a motivational wall.

The dimensions of the canvases adds to the simple clutter-free style I want in the room.  Effective decor that makes an impact.

I ordered the canvas art in 3 different sizes to add more interest along the wall.

Move and lose: 20″ x 16″

It and it!: 10″ x 14″

Or: 12″ x 12″

I chose the colors of the fonts to go with the stripes on the ceiling fan. The fan is from the previous decor. I was going to paint the blades white, but after second thought I decided to keep them since they add a positive vibe to the room.

Thanks to TinyPrints – my new art canvases are now adding to that vibe.

I will save this page for future inspiration. I love the Move it or lose it! prints! In a couple years, all the little birds will have left the nest and I should be able to have an exercise room and that phrase is perfect. We watched my father-in-law not move when he could (he chose an extremely sedentary lifestyle) and in the end, he did lose it – he had almost no mobility and that was just so sad to watch. I want to make sure that I keep moving!!

Hi Erin – Congratulations! You won the $100 Tiny Prints giveaway I has on my blog this past week. Please reply to this email and I will have the credit sent to you via email.

  50. LOVE this! You actually just helped me decide what will hang on the room divider I’m making out of pallets for our basement! The canvas is lightweiight and would be the perfect type of photo to hang on either side, probably humorous messages for guests, something to make them feel at home. The throw would also be excellent for the basement sofa or daybed. Thank you for the terrific motivational signs. I am going to USE these! Move it OR lose it, i.e., strength, flexibility, mental sharpness, and energy. Could also say, move it AND lose it, i.e., flabby behind, roll around the middle, bulges protruding out from under my bra strap. ;) It’s a WIN WIN and I love, love love it – thank you! (My husband said your blog is the cheapest therapy there is, that he notices I am routinely energized and my creativity sparked after I’ve read your posts. He’s absolutely right.)

  51. Christina Rodriguez says:

I love your blue floor! I happen to be on a pale blue or aqua kick right now. I am painting my office corner aqua with white trim. Can’t wait for it to be done! Since my now 14 moths old boy was born, i had been wanting to get a picture of him enlarged and hang in has room. But such things can get expensive and we can’t afford it right now since I lost my job. So if I win this giveaway, I would get a large print of my son’s picture.

  53. Allison T says:

I would use this to decorate my new home’s exercise room (love what you’ve done!) or mudroom!

  54. While I love the workout room inspiration, I would use it to print my grandmother’s favorite old recipes on fabric to make dish towels for my kids and cousins. She was born in 1898 and really knew how to cook. Even the measurements aren’t as precise as we use now, but it would remind everyone just how primitive cooking/baking was. I have her original cookbook in her writing. I spent the most time with her, learning to cook, sew and crochet, so I got it when she passed away. I think it would be the perfect way to preserve and share her love one more time!
