Friday Fun: What’s In My Bag

YAY! It’s Friday. Let’s have some fun like bloggers did on Fridays in the early days of blogging. Do you remember posts when a blogger would show what is in their handbag? That is what I am sharing with you today.

For about 15 years, I have been a crossbody bag lover. I like to be able to have hands-free mobility when out and about.

Bag Dimensions: 10.5” wide, 7” tall, and 3” deep.

I have had a few different designer brands of crossbody bags over the years, but after getting my first Baggallini Bag about 10 years ago, I don’t think I would ever want to use another type of handbag. (this is not a sponsored post – I just love their bags)

Their bags come in all shapes, colors and sizes and are designed so well with all sorts or zippered sections that help to keep all your stuff organized, easy to find and safe and secure when out and about or traveling.

The Everyday Bagg that I am using in the photo above is my absolute favorite crossbody bag for so many reasons. I don’t think I would ever want to use another style. I have two, one in the Midnight Blossom pattern and another one that is solid black.

It comes in a variety of other colors and patterns. It is just perfect for me no matter where I go – a night out, an afternoon shopping trip or when traveling. Oh and another great feature – it is machine washable!!!

What’s In My Bag

Just like I do in my house, I try to minimize things – same with what I keep in my bag. I have become very intentional about what I carry with me – it is not a lot of stuff as I don’t want to be lugging a heavy bag around.

I love that I no longer need a wallet as there is one built right into The Everyday Bagg. The heaviest items I need to have with me are my cell phone and my keys.

Ed’s car along with my car have key fobs. They take up the most room and go in the main section of my bag. My cell phone goes in the back pocket.

My sunglasses and tin of salve that I use as hand cream also go in the main section.

My lipstick and a nail file go into the snap closure flap covered pocket on the front of the bag

two photos - one showing front of bag snd the other what is inside the built-in wallet section.

The built-in wallet section has 6 slots for cards, 2 zippered sections and two open sections. I use one open section to hold cash, the other coupons, receipts and I always have a teabag with me as most places I go especially when traveling never have tea, only coffee.

The center zippered section I use for coins. The zippered pocket in the back of this section is where I place band-aids in case I ever need one.

My Everyday Bagg is perfect for my needs and personal style. It is a very popular bag in the Baggallini line. The style underwent a design change at some point as The Original Everyday Bagg which is slightly larger is still being sold.

It is more square in shape and has a zipper above the front flap covered pocket.

  1. I have a couple of Baggallinis that I use just for travel. My favorite feature of them is RFID protection and their other safety features. IRL I’m a tote gal. (Large tote!)

  2. I too love Baggallini crossbody bags. The feature I must have on my purse is an outside pocket that is roomy enough to hold my 4 fabric grocery bags. My current purse came from QVC and it has zippered compartments for all the necessities. I like to keep my purse lightweight and my phone and car fob are the weightiest items in my purse. I almost never change out a purse, instead I use it till it falls apart OR I see another one, so fabulous, that I give up the previous one. Thanks for going retro and sharing your purse’s contents!

Hi Sue – I like the idea of having a pocket for fabric grocery bags – that is very handy. I, like you keep the same bag for years until it falls apart and since Baggallini bags are well made that can be a long time. :-). I have found a few of mine at TJMaxx and my current one on Amazon. When I travel we always have to go through the airport in Charlotte, NC. My husband knows even if we are racing through the terminal to get to our connecting flight, I like to do a quick look-see at the Baggallini kiosk in the main terminal.

Very interesting. I prefer a tote because it seems easier to access my stuff…and I carry lots of stuff. I guess I want to be prepared for almost anything! Besides that “emergency” bandaid you carry, I also have a pack of dental pics, one KN-95 face mask (in case I go in a store where most people are wearing masks), some xylitol gum, tissues, hearing aid batteries, stevia sweetener packets, hand sanitizer, aspirin, Xanax, hand lotion, fabric swatches and color chips, reading glasses, sunglasses, lipstick, eyebrow pencil, and blusher. You know, just the basics! Ha ha. Of course, there are my keys, wallet with cash and credit cards and discount cards, and phone. Depending on where I am headed, there could be a water bottle in there too. It drives my husband crazy when I go digging around in it, so maybe I need to reconsider a crossover. I do own one because I bought it for a recent trip to New York City and wanted to travel hands-free and safe. I do a thorough dump-out and cleanup of my bag every few days and have special locations in each for everyday items, so there’s never chaos. I rotate about 4 bags depending on my outfit for the day. Call me nuts.

  4. I love my Black Baggallini Everyday Bagg, it’s lightweight and holds everything I need. Many years ago, I got hooked on handbags with built-in wallets, for their convenience. Now they are hard to find.

  5. Sadly, my favorite Baggallini crossbody bag was in the suitcase I checked last week when my husband and I flew United from Boston to Denver. I’d packed it in favor of a somewhat larger carry-on. A huge mistake! My suitcase is still “delayed,” and I doubt I’ll see it again!

  6. I’ve always wanted a crossbody bag, but never found one that could fit my wallet. This is absolutely perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I too used to only use cross body bags when I was shopping etc. Now, it’s all I use. I never understood why bag designers didn’t put more zippers pockets etc. I also like the Baggallini bag above because if you wanted to change out the strap, it has the clips! Thank you so much for sharing! I’m buying today, I wish this was sponsored so you would get credit!

  8. Great timing, I need to replace my current cross body bag, thank you! I can’t believe all the stuff I used to lug around when I was younger. I think it gets easier to simply as we get older. My daughter with little ones certainly needs more than a small purse.

  9. I only use a cross body bag when I go somewhere that I need to be hands and shoulder free. I have a couple of them and I keep the contents very very simple – phone, cards, cash, key. I’m a tote lover, most of the time. I use a Vera Bradley one for work, transferring out my wallet to my regular tote purse for weekends. I carry dupes in each so I don’t have to worry about not having what I need with each. Side note: the other day I found a ketchup packet in my purse and wondered how that got in there, ha ha.

  10. I too have used a crossbody for years and years. I would never go back either. Haven’t tried your brand but I have looked at it on Amazon and TJMaxx. It just makes sense.
