I have a fall inspired Insta-Style for you today.
What’s Insta-Style? A weekend series of simple projects for which no tutorial is needed.
You may not own the same items I show in the series of posts, but I am hoping that the ideas will inspire you to look at everything around you with new eyes and ask yourself…”what if?” to come up with your own Insta-Style decorating ideas.
I love pumpkins… they are one of my favorite things in life. So when fall rolls around I get excited and like to add them all around my house. My favorite is still the classic orange pumpkin that has kind of taken a back seat to the white and heirloom pumpkins and gourds that are popular in decor now.
When out and about I get the comfy cozy feeling when I see pumpkins amassed in quantity on a home’s front porch along with a bale of hay or two.
In magazines, there is nothing prettier than an artistically arranged group of pumpkins on a mantel or table top, but if you don’t have a porch or space to create a pumpkin display, here is a way to literally elevate a small or medium size pumpkin to celebrate the season.
All you need is a candle holder or even a small cake plate and a pumpkin…
…nothing else, no glue or nails and hammers. Just place a pumpkin on top of a candle holder. Done!
Pumpkins on pedestals.
A simple way to celebrate the season. :-)

Oh boy thats so simple and decorative. I love the way your brain works!
Great idea. Just read your Thanksgiving place card post and love that too!
Hi Alison – Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love coming up with festive fall ideas to share each year. This year we will be celebrating up in VA with our daughters. I will be taking a few things with me to set the table in an extra special way.
Diane, you are amazing! It’s really funny that the project I worked on today was involved candle holders but in different ways. I made something else with them which I would share on Friday. I love the way you put these together, as you always brought neat ideas fro your readers.
Another clever idea that I wouldn’t have thought of! I’ve been going through my cupboards and found many rarely-used candle holders. I was debating about giving them away, but right now I’m going to use them for pumpkin decor. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Linda – So happy to hear that my post inspired you to go rooting through your cupboards. I love finding new uses for the ordinary, especially when you don’t have to alter anything to make something decorative. :-) Enjoy your pedestal pumpkins.
Thanks Diane, I have a bunch of those little stands and would never have thought to do that – great idea!
Thank you! This idea made my day.
