Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

It’s Mother’s Day weekend! Sending you wishes for happy Mother’s Day! Do you have any plans?

I am going to be spending it with my daughter Amanda who bought tickets to attend a crafts festival near Charlottesville, Va where I have been the last week watching my granddaughter, Zoe. My older daughter and my son-in-law will be back today so I feel special getting to see all of them today and then it is homeward bound for me.

    1. Hi Kate – When I saw the sweatshirt I was in love right away with it. So soft and comfy, but with a stylish edge that takes it up a notch. :-) I hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Hello Diane,

Yes I had a special day yesterday- Paul (my son from NC) came home. All three cooked dinner for me and my daughter-in-law Michele – it was great.

I hope yours was just as great.

    1. Hi Jane – Happy to hear that you had a special day with your son and daughter-in-law. Time spent with our children is the best. I had a wonderful day that went by too fast. Now it is back home and work for me.

  2. Thank you for the great links, and Happy Mother’s Day to you. Enjoy your family and safe travels!

  3. I always enjoy your blog, and reading this on Mother’s Day I especially enjoyed your comments about your what your momma used to say! Many familiar statements, many I said to my kids also. Happy Mother’s Day to you and your daughter!

  4. Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll bet you went to the Crozet Arts and Crafts festival this weekend. I haven’t been in years but when I went in the past, it was always wonderful.

    1. Hi Paula – Yes you are correct that is where we went to the Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival. :-) We had a nice time and I did buy a small piece of pottery. There was not a huge amount of vendors, but it was well attending on Sunday when we went.

The ride to it from Cville was beautiful. I always enjoy exploring the area and the wineries. I know you have a home on Smith Mountain Lake, but is your main home right in Cville or one of the surrounding areas?

      1. I grew up in the Rockfish Valley of Nelson County and Crozet isn’t far at all from my parents’ farm. The ride on 250 from Charlottesville to Crozet is stunning! I know that you enjoyed that. I now live in Lynchburg and we go to our SML house nearly every weekend. It’s only an hour away yet we feel like we are on vacation every weekend!

        1. Hi Paula –
Virginia is such a pretty state. That ride on 250 is like you said – stunning. :-) I also saw a few new homes in Crozet as we were getting close to the festival that were very nice.

When we were looking for lakes to live on 5 years ago, we did look at 3 homes on Smith Mountain Lake, but decided we wanted to be further south. It is a beautiful lake. Living on a lakes does feel like being on vacation all the time. It is a nice. Enjoy all your weekends at your lake home. :-)
