Style Scouting: Labor Day Weekend

It is not officially the end of summer yet, but Labor Day weekend is the pivoting weekend that always starts with a summer vibe and ends with getting back to a more structured schedule – whatever that means for you.

White dishes and Roman numeral clock in cabinet

Here in SC, it is still hot and will be until October when I will finally be able to turn the A/C off in the house and open all the doors and windows allowing the lake breeze into the house. Bliss… it is a day of celebration and when fall for me really kicks in.

The back side of this weekend will have me returning to getting projects done around the house. I have a list that I am excited to dive into and can’t wait to get each one completed and share them with you.

So to end the summer, here is some inspiration for the fall season ahead and other creative and interesting things I found online this week:

Loved seeing how this new home has come along.

I enjoy seeing “twists” on classic decorative treatments. This wall treatment is not hard to do and looks amazing.

Quite a dramatic Before and After makeover of a traditional home.

A clever use of concrete and precious stone.

If you do needlework, this will truly amaze you. And even if you never stitched anything in your life, you will be amazed at the creativity of this artist.

Need a bowl filler for a fall coffee table? This crafty DIY idea will do just that and you may have everything you need to make them already in your home.

Easy ways to style scarves and blankets around your home for fall.

Have a closet in our foyer? This may have you rethinking how you use it.

Our new to us pandemic living habits may be sticking.

What? Stop decluttering!

I told myself that I was not buying new things to decorate for fall this year, but when I saw these I had to cave. I would have liked the trio, but settled on the medium sized one.

That’s a wrap for the summer season of 2020 for me. I am looking forward to a happy cozy fall season ahead. XO

Lots of interesting articles! I saved the blanket and scarves idea. I need to get to JoAnn’s to get some yardage to make a couple. Thank you.
