Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. It’s my Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.
I am so happy that I mentioned my bum hip in last week’s post. I can’t thank all of you enough for the comments and emails you sent hoping I feel better and telling me about your hip replacement experiences. Thank you! Reading all of them is very reassuring.
But what really amazed me is that two readers wrote to tell me that one of the best hip surgeons in the country is 20 minutes away from me. I had no idea.
One reader lives in Chicago and traveled to Columbia, SC with her husband so he could get his hips redone. Same with the other reader. You better believe I made an appointment with the doctor. I don’t even have to wait very long. My appointment is in two weeks.
I may have never known this without this blog of mine. Thanks for being the best readers!!!

I think it’s sad that the boy scout camp with its beautiful setting has passed into private hands. Now old board games hang in the hall as decoration instead of furnishing fun for giggling groups of kids on a rain day. Too bad.
Super happy you’re going to get it looked at….my FIL had his done about 4 yrs ago and we all were amazed at how quick the recovery was and him walking around that same day!! Mind blown 🤯.
Take care 🥰
Make sure when you get it replaced the proceedure is the SuperPath I had this done in 2013 recovered in 4 weeks never had a problem since. At that time I had to go 300 miles to Nashville. Oct 28, 2022 I fell and broke my right hip couldn’t get to Nashville and had it done here. The doctor told me his procedure was very much like the Superpath but it wasn’t 10 month later and I’m still recovering!! If I had it to do over again I would somehow get to Nashville!!!
Hi Mary – Thank you so much for telling me about the SuperPath procedure. I did not know about that and looked into it after reading your comment. I even watched a video. :-) Looks like the closest surgeon for me is about 3 hours away. I plan on looking into it more.
I’m so glad you have an appointment coming up in a couple of weeks with one of the best hip doctors! I also forgot to mention last week that my SIL had her knee done by him. Her knee is doing great, and she took up bike riding last year at the age of 71! My hope and prayers for you are that you find relief in the best way possible to continue your active lifestyle.
I love the links today. So surprised at the incredible renovation of the boy scout camp. I passed that location up every day over 20 years while I worked down the road from it. It’s fabulous! I think I’ll go do a drive by later today.
Thanks Deanna :-) It is cool to hear that you know the Boy Scout camp. What fun that you can drive by it.
