And here we are… the last week of June is upon us. It doesn’t seem possible – time just seems to fly.

What also doesn’t seem possible is that I will be turning 64 this week. I still feel like a teenager in my mind.

To celebrate, my twin sister, Carol who is 5 minutes older than me is coming for the week. We plan to go to Charleston one day, she has never been so we will do all the touristy things. For the rest of the week, we plan to go shopping, enjoy each other’s company and just hang out on the lake as it looks like it is going to be a nice weather week.

I hope that whatever you have planned this week that it is great. XO

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

Such happy and colorful summertime rooms.

I like seeing this growing trend happening in decorating, how about you?

Look what you can do with a kitchen floor.

DIY

What you can do with a plain picture frame.

The table makeover is nice, but the top looks amazing!

Watching & Reading

I just put this newly published book on my summer reading list.

Looking forward to watching this and learning more.

Food

To make for a picnic or a moveable feast.

Did you know you could make these with a box of Jiffy Mix?

I am going to make this for a gathering on July 4th. I think it will be a hit.

Home Improvement

If you like porches on a home, these before and after porch makeovers are inspiring.

Fun & Interesting

I have never known this. Did you?

Did you know you can get paid to live here and also here? What is the catch? Each is a bit different, but could a great opportunity if you love new experiences.

Do you like to walk? If so, consider becoming the paid CSO – Chief Step Officer.

Something to Think About

I have been making what I do every morning a priority and find my days are better when I do.

Such good advice.

  1. I hope you are enjoying your birthday week with your sister!
I appreciate that aside from the decorating and home style advice you offer, you also give a lot of advice about living your best life. The article on how you spend your mornings made me think about my life since retirement – since the workday structure is gone I have lost many of those practices and habits. Time for me to put some more “intention” back into my life to feel better about how I spend my days. Thanks for all you do!

Hi Linda – The article on making the best of your mornings really struck a cord with me also. Right after I read it a few weeks ago I have been taking the time in the morning for myself, but also to set up my day. It really has helped me not only to relax, but is making me more organized and as you mentioned intentional about what is important and what is not. I hope you enjoy your putting some intention and habits that you enjoy back into your life.
