Style Scouting: Vol. 158

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

A clear day in September on the lake.

Welcome September! A time for new starts, change and cooler weather!!!! After Hurricane Idalia skirted my town, the weather since then has been glorious!!!! It felt amazing to be able to sit outside again and enjoy the view with no heat or humidity in the air.

I opened all the sliding doors and windows to let the fresh air in. I know it won’t last as fall doesn’t arrive until the end of the month, but it sure is nice to be able to hang out on my deck again.

Now that it is September, my summer break is over and I will be back to posting what I have been up to on the decorating project front, my fall living room and what I did in the kitchen. So look out for these and more coming to the blog starting this week.

Now onto the inspiring links I found this week.

Decorating

A designer’s restored cottage home.

This artistic bread maker also has a beautiful home.

I like the way these two big retailers showcase their current decorating paint colors.

This colorful charming home tour.

DIY

On my morning walks lately I have been picking up some very colorful leaves. Now I know how I can save and use them in decorative ways.

When you need a coffee table, why not make it!

When your fridge no longer goes with your kitchen decor, look what you can do!

Organizing

I have been cleaning out closets and drawers the last few weeks. After seeing this smart organizing idea, I need to create an empty drawer in my home where I can do this.

This closet gets a new function and look.

Food

These yummy looking mini sandwiches are perfect for easy weeknight dinners or game-day parties.

It is almost apple picking time – these sure look like one very delicious way to enjoy them.

If you are a steak lover like my husband, you are going to like this.

Out & About

I like listening to podcasts when I walk, but do think doing this is better for my mind.

Fashion & Beauty

This casual shirt dress will take you stylishly into fall.

Fun & Interesting

A cute and oh so true circumstance for those of us with husbands that just let us do our thing when it comes to decorating the house. My husband related, smiled and did a fist bump in the air when I told him that there was another hubby out there who feels his pain and that he even termed a phrase for what he doesn’t quite enjoy when we change the decor for the season or on a whim. :-)

I loved this decorating style when I was living through this era, but now it looks so dated. :-)

Why do dogs tilt their heads when looking at you sometimes.

Something to Think About

I want to be like her when I am 101 years old!

Actually laughed out loud at the revisiting the 90s decor post you featured.

To me wicker in a cottage will never ever go out of style – but whew, 90s was a lot, wasn’t it?

Hi Michele – Yes the 90’s were about a lot – pattern, color, collectibles and stuff. Living with it back in the day felt fine, now it looks so overdone. :-)
