Back in the late spring, I made the decision to take a break from my regular blog post schedule over the summer. I was feeling a bit burnt-out after 15 years of blogging and always being on. Now that it is the end of August, my break was a good thing, because as the saying goes…. absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Over the last two weeks I got my mojo back with not only one project, but three. The one that I am most excited about is in a section of my kitchen. I can’t wait to finish and share it with you along with changes in my living room to welcome the fall season and what I did in my studioffice.

So just like the kids go back to school at the end of the summer, so will I, but back to my normal posting schedule. Stay tuned.

Decorating

A few rustic kitchen decor takeaways can be found in this post that may give you ideas on how to cozy it up for fall.

This Louisville home has a nice mix of interesting textures.

The decor in this home interior has soothing fall vibes.

You have heard of Murphy Beds, how about the Murphy Door trend?

DIY

You won’t believe what was under this ugly fireplace! Watch the the short video till the end. Wow!

What a colorful and easy chair makeover.

What a clever way to make a fall wreath using pinecones.

Seeing this makes me want to learn to crochet.

Home Improvement

I have had this outlet cover in my foyer for years. It makes a huge difference at night as it has an auto nightlight built in. Great for dark hallways or bathrooms at night.

Food

I call this almost guilt-free comfort food.

Have you ever tried making lasagna this way?

If you like fall and Pillsbury Crescent Rolls you are probably going to like these.

Out & About

A few tips you may not have thought of when shopping garage sales.

I am playing around with styling my open kitchen cabinets with this new dinnerware set.

What do you think about this new offering at Dunkin Donuts?

Fashion & Beauty

I love hoodie’s that cover your butt and have style to them. I just got this one. It runs big so size down unless you like oversized cozy tops.

Fun & Interesting

Do you have Netflix and have this problem? Here is an easy fix for it.

If you are all about Pumpkin spice in the fall, you will like this list.

  1. Your blog was loaded with “goodies”. I subscribed to 3 different blogs.
I pinned the sunflower wreath (even though I do not care for sunflowers) as I am going to make that wreath.
Read your guide on going to yard sales which is great advice.
Now I am going to burst your bubble on that crocheted tote: I have had one like that plus I bought a French Market Bag that was like that. I learned to hate them as I either lost things through the holes or things moved and would stick through the holes and end up poking me or somebody else. I donated mine to Goodwill.

So many goodies today! The fireplace discovery was really nice.
I’m a knitter but I’ve wanted one of those market bags for some time. I must find a knitted pattern for one.
That comfort food recipe will be dinner tonight. I have two zucchini that need to be eaten. It’s too hot to turn on the oven so I’ll be using the grill to “bake” it.
Printing out the thank you note checklist for future reference. Might also send that list to my grandkids.
Thank you for these great links.

  6. So many neat finds today! Thanks so much for scouting out the neatest ideas.
