Style Scouting: Vol. 177

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

I have been posting my Style Scouting posts for a few years now. I have more than 177 posts, as I used to call the series, Friday Finds. Typing in the number 177 made me think of 1977. It was the year I graduated from high school.

That made me realize how time flies – truly it does. I still feel like that 18 year old I was back in 1977, but now I have a whole lot more confidence! :-). One great thing about getting older, you become your true self and live happily in your own style. :-)

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Now onto the links I found this week.

Decorating

You won’t believe what this home used to be. And if you like it, make sure to check out the designer’s complete portfolio.

This Atlanta based interior designer’s portfolio.

This is one very cheery home.

DIY

I like to make Valentine hearts, but have never seen them made like this.

If you have glass plates, this is one idea to make them look different.

I love how this blogger covered up the glass doors on an entertainment center.

Not one, but two ways to update recessed lighting with no re-wiring needed. Method #1 and Method #2.

Food

Do you like Tatertots? If so, have you ever made this using them?

This biscotti recipe… has me wanting to take a bite of it in the photo.

If you are interested in eating only plants and non-processed foods. This is my favorite burger recipe I make on repeat.

For you and your family to enjoy on Valentine’s Day.

Out & About

For all puzzle lovers. It looks impossible.

Do you ever plug your phone in a public jack to charge it when you are at places other then your home, like an airport or coffee shop? Then according to a high level computer guy I know, we should all be using one of these small and inexpensive USB Data Blockers.

A data blocker is a charge only adapter with a no data-sync function so you can charge your mobile devices in public without any risk of data breach or uploading viruses or personal information being taken from your phone.

Fun & Interesting

Now why didn’t I think of this. Genius!!!! Just ordered the part to do it.

If I lived in Canada, I would love to be able to do a few laps on this.

Doing these two proven happiness habits at the same time is a wellbeing win.

Something to Think About

If you bite your nails or have a habit of picking at your skin or another harmful habit and want to stop doing it, try doing this easy technique.

“We are all juggling so many balls. Differentiate between glass balls and rubber balls — and don’t be afraid to drop the rubber balls.” — Kathryn Cunningham

Oh… So Stylish Finds

  • I just got these no show sneaker socks! They stay up and never slip down into your shoes when you walk. They come in a few colors.
  • I like being prepared in advance. Having an organizing box like this sure helps when it comes to making sure I get birthday cards and other cards I buy sent on time.
  • I have been through 3 of these in the past 4 years. All were on the inexpensive side and only lasted around a year. I think it is time to splurge on this one that is said to last forever.
  • With the crazy temperature fluctuations we have been experiencing I like to be in the know and have one of these right outside my kitchen window.

  1. I’ve got the soap extension kit in my cart! What a great idea. Thank you!!

  2. Yay for Class of ’77! Me too. Seems like a hundred years ago. : ). Thanks for all of the great links! The black bean burger recipe sounds so good!! (and the clear puzzle – yikes!)

  3. Donna Marie says:

I’m glad someone decorates with color!!! Love it!!!

  4. I grew up in Ottawa & we skated on the Rideau Canal every year! The skating season is shorter & shorter now, due to climate change. When I visit family there (I moved further north), summers are hotter & winters milder than my childhood years. The cheery home was so much fun! I’m a neutral girl but maybe I need to add a bit of fun color this spring!

  5. Love the “cheery home”!! Thanks for sharing.
