Style Scouting: Vol. 207

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

fall leaves on a plate

Over the past week 3 things happened to me that got me very excited for fall to arrive. The first was the weather. It has been fall-like in August… in South Carolina! So much so that we haven’t needed the AC on in the house for the past 4 days. It is such a treat as I love fresh air and a breeze flowing through the house. :-)

I find myself singing the Cole Porter tune – “it’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s delovely”.

The second thing that happened was another sign that fall is on its way was there were colorful leaves along the route I take for my morning walk. Some of the leaves were so vibrant I had to pick a few of them up to bring home just so I could look at them.

And the third thing that happened was in a cute boutique I was browsing in. On the store’s music track that was random in genre, this song came on, The Great Pumpkin Waltz by Vince Guaraldi. I know it may be silly, but hearing the song, just made me so happy and eager for fall to arrive. (open in same tab)

How about you? Have there been any signs around that are telling you that fall is on its way?

Now onto the inspiring links and ideas I found this week.

  1. Diane, I had to chuckle at you singing a Cole Porter song in your head as I just saw “Anything Goes” at
our fabulous outdoor theater. The MUNY, as it is lovingly called, is 107 years old and sits in a city park bigger than NYC’s Central Park. The evening was “de-lovely” with a cool evening breeze befit of autumn! Unfortunately we are back to sweltering heat this week! Thanks for the great blog!

  2. Wow – that photographer’s work is very telling… and incredibly sad.

  3. That flower carpet was magnificent! Thanks for the info! ;)

  4. You must live in the Upstate because I live on the beach in South Carolina and it is anything but fall like here 🥵🥵🥵 We don’t cool off until late November, early December at the beach.

Hi JL – I live in the midlands just west of Columbia on Lake Murray. Normally it is hot and humid every single day in August, getting the cooler temps was quite a treat. Sadly the temps are shooting back up to normal temps this week. :-(

  5. Love the word “crapulence”. Describes the feeling perfectly! lol!
