Style Scouting: Vol. 215

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

And here we are already starting the last week of October. Halloween 2024 will be history in a few days. Then it’s full-on holiday mode. I have begun to slowly decorate for the holidays in-between getting things ready to take to Charlottesville in less than two weeks for my daughter Mandy’s wedding.

The wedding is at a venue where we will be staying all weekend in lodges and cabins. I have wedding decor items to finish making and pack. Plus I need to pack enough bedding and towels, not only for Ed and me, but also for my older daughter, SIL, his parents and grandkiddies that will be flying in from California which makes it hard to bring it themselves.

Doing all this the past week while we had a childhood friend of Ed’s stay with us while roofers and construction teams have been banging away and making a mess to fix the house after the tree punched through the roof and into a guest room during Hurricane Helene have made for a crazy week. All good, but I am a little off my game with so much going on and so many decisions to make. :-)

I also wanted to mention that if you find yourself looking for Christmas ideas and inspiration in the coming days and weeks, remember I have hundreds of holiday ideas, tips and projects and more on my All Things Christmas Page. It is like its own website within my blog. You can find it all here: Creative Christmas Ideas for Decorating, Wrapping, Baking and More. (open in same tab)

  • I have had a set of these for years and they still look good because they are made of metal and glass not plastic. Just bought more to use for my daughter’s upcoming wedding. (open in same tab)

  1. What a wonderful time of year for your daughter to be getting married. You have a lot on your plate, but if anyone can do it, it is you! Glad your sister is nearby and hoping she is giving you a hand as sisters tend to do. Can’t wait to see pictures of the couple, the venue, the decor, food and you and all the attendees. I bet you’re ordering the solar lights so you can find your way from cabin to cabin. It is going to be fabulous!

  2. Your life is crazy-busy right now! Have a wonderful time at your daughter’s wedding!

  3. So many ideas Diane I don’t know where to start. How exciting getting ready for your daughter’s wedding… but wow you have a lot to do. It will be beautiful! Share pics. Happy to read your roof is getting done. Praying for everyone in the south affected.

  4. Time flies, eh!! I remember around this time last year, you were getting a hip replacement, & now your daughter is getting married & your roof is being replaced! Busy times for you, enjoy being mother of the bride on your daughter’s special day.
