Style Scouting: Vol. 255

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Are you staying cool indoors because you’ve had enough of the summer heat like me?

If you are, now is the perfect time to start thinking about fall decorating and DIY’ing your own fall decor. (open in same tab) This way, once fall arrives you will have a decorating plan in place and decor ready that will make your home just how you envision for the cozy season that will be arriving in about a month.

It is too early, even for me, a fall lover to decorate my house for the season. This doesn’t mean I haven’t had it on my mind.

I will share more with you this week about what I have been doing to get ready for fall. I am still enjoying taking the summer slow and not working on too much, but I found this past week my creative brain is coming to life again… so stayed tuned.

Now onto the links I found for you this week.

Decorating

This transitional eclectic home melds refined styling and a confident, yet soothing color scheme that you don’t see very much in home decor. (open in same tab)

You can buy the Bennett’s home from Pride and Prejudice. Too bad it doesn’t come with Mr. Darcy. :-) (open in same tab)

I like the cool, yet warm color vibes of the decor in this home. (open in same tab)

This is a creative fall decorating idea for a puzzle that has lost a few pieces. (open in same tab)

This is a clever way to make a hanging planter using a basket. (open in same tab)

Food

I want to try making this using some of the basil in my garden. (open in same tab)

When it gets too hot to cook, this looks like a refreshing way to make lunch. (open in same tab)

I made this healthy drink and even froze some in a popsicle mold for a cool summer treat – Yum! (open in same tab)

Watching & Listening

I stumbled upon this YouTuber last month and was fascinated. Now I am enjoying watching all her videos and enjoying learning how she lives on an island close to the North Pole. (open in same tab). I even bought her beautiful coffee table book that is adding a nice pop of color to my living room ottoman. (open in same tab)

I haven’t started a new fiction book this week, but have been listening on repeat, especially to Track #18 to this “new-to-me” musician’s songs. (open in same tab)

Fashion & Beauty

I haven’t been able to find my favorite facial cleanser at any cosmetic counter. I used it for years, but then it was always out of stock. I thought they discontinued it. I was happy to find a store that has it. YAY! I like that it feels creamy and comforting on my aging skin. So many cleansers are too oily or don’t wash off. This one does and leaves my skin soft and supple and not irritated. (open in same tab)

Fun & Interesting

These old wives tales when it comes to cleaning your house and cooking actually work. (open in same tab)

This is a cute story about professional football players not knowing how to swim. (open in same tab)

Did you know this? I didn’t. It is one of those simple kitchen tips that are good to know. (open in same tab)

I always wondered about this happening in a car. Now I know the reason it does. (open in same tab)
