Style Scouting: Vol. 263

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

I am… Oh! so happy that the “fall feeling” has finally arrived to SC this weekend. It is chilly and cloudy… which feels wonderful to be able to get snug in the living room reading a cozy mystery while Ed watches football, game after game – college football yesterday and today it will be all the pro games.

I don’t mind as I love hearing the sound of the game on in the background – to me it justs add to the fall coziness in the house. How about you, do you feel the same?

On another note, if you read my post last week, you know we were getting quotes to replace three – 3-panel sliding glass doors on the first floor of the house and were getting some pretty crazy quotes.

Thank you to all of who wrote to tell me your experience with door companies. On Monday we will make the decision after I get a color swatch for the exterior color. Then we will have to wait for about 4-6 weeks until they are made and then installed, but should be done by the holiday season.

This week on the blog, I plan to share a few more simple fall touches I have added to the house, till then, I hope you have a great week ahead.

Now onto the links I found for you this week.

Fashion & Beauty

In the fall and winter I live in this style of top. I was so happy to find one in a color I don’t have that goes nicely with my grey hair and my fave red lipstick. (open in same tab)

That thing you’ve always wanted to do. (open in same tab)

Know Your Taste and Trust Your Gut – Stay true to your personal style. Firmly believe in not doing something because it’s cool right now. Do it because you love it. Do it because it kind of makes your heart go pitter-patter. It’s not about other people’s style or design, it’s about yours, and you’ll be able to notice and recognize, ‘Do I love this or do I love this because somebody told me to?'” – Leanne Ford

  • I used to love and use this and even had a small size in my purse when I was living in NYC during college. It sets your makeup, but even better, it helps hydrate the skin with no chemicals. I spray it on before and after moisturizer and then again after makeup. I saw it at Sephora and bought it again after all these years. (open in same tab)
  • The cozy at home season is here. Time to put out all my favorite candles. I have many battery-operated ones made by this company. They are the most realistic looking and the batteries last a long time. (open in same tab)
