Style Scouting: Vol. 275
Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

There is one thing I miss since I moved to South Carolina where the winters are milder than the ones I grew up with. I miss a good snow day! As I was searching for links to share with you this week I came across quite a few snowy scenes.
Ed thinks I am nuts for wanting even a little bit of snow along with a cold and overcast day. I just find a snow day not only fun, but cozy and relaxing.
We are supposed to get freezing rain and perhaps a light coating of snow today. I am keeping my fingers crossed so I can officially have a snow day. Bring on the old movies, cuddly throws and mugs of hot cocoa.
How about you? Do you feel the same?
Now onto the links I found for you this week.

The picture you like would be great on the back of your front door. Provided you haven’t any glass there. You sure would see it often.
I like it,too!
The farmhouse refresh has me confused. Entry stairway photo ( before?)
Shows single flight of stairs from the main floor and now original window. Then follow up pics show a turned stair way and window, not he same place
It seems to me.
Hi Sue – The two before photos of the stairs are taken in the entry from 2 different angles. The after photo only shows the before shot angle on the right where you can see the window and the turn of the stairway. I hope this explanation helps. :-)
I’m on team Ed with snow! Lol. In Illinois today it is so cold I am wearing a puffer vest indoors. It’s been a rough winter here so far, starting the weekend after Thanksgiving. Anyway, fun, informative links. I’m going to start an analog bag. What a good idea. Pinning that pretzel crusted chicken/arugula dish to try this week after a grocery store run.
Hi Deanna – Ed is high fiving you with a big YES to no snow. :-). I am enjoying gathering items for my analog bag which is actually a basket I added to the side table of the chair I always sit it. So far I have the coloring book and some red and pink paper to make some Valentines. I hope the winter eases up for you, try to stay cozy and think spring.
I love snow. As a child I played for hours in the snow & we would go cross country skiing (I wasn’t very good at it though). This winter we are getting quite a lot of snow. It completely changes the landscape into billows of white. Snowbanks are getting quite high. I love how quiet our town feels. It makes springtime fun too. As the snow melts & water gurgles, we get to rediscover what we had forgotten under the months of snow. Maybe you & Ed could book a 3 day snowy adventure somewhere!
Hi Holly – What you wrote are many of the things that I miss about snow. I grew up in the northeast where we had lots of snow and ice. Snowbanks became forts, ice skating, sledding, snowmen building and more, plus the quietness felt very special. I will mention your idea to Ed about a 3 day snowy get-a-way. He might go for it as long as he doesn’t have to shovel it. :-)
I agree with Ed about snow. I live in Georgia and when it snows we frequently have power outages. Then it melts and freezes and we have ice. I worked in Germany 3 years where it snowed every day in winter. That was enough for me.
Hi Shirley – Ed is high fiving you in agreement of no snow. A agree that snow can be a major problem, but I would love just one snow day where a pretty blanket of snow falls with no ice. I hope the winter doesn’t bring any snow and ice your way this year.
I agree with you completely about snow. I live in the Northeast and we get snow most winters. What I love about a gentle snow day is the beauty of the falling snow on the ground and on the limbs of trees. There’s a quietness that no other weather gives you. A snow storm on the other hand with strong winds and cold temperatures, not the same until it is done, then its a winter wonderland.
Hi Kathy – YES to all the lovely things you wrote that a snow day can bring… the quietness and a layer of snow on the trees. They are what I miss. <3
