Style Scouting: Vol. 274

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Happy January 11th and a belated Happy 2026. The year is flying by already.

I am writing this at 1:23 AM Sunday morning. Ed and I literally just got home after spending the day traveling from Los Angeles. It took an entire day, even with no delays or airline troubles.

We spent the holidays with our daughters and grandchildren. Christmas week we were in Virginia and then New Years until yesterday in Los Angeles.

I loved being able to take the time off to simply chill and enjoy family time with no work schedule to keep. I enjoyed every minute and found as always that being away from home and my normal routine, sparks my creativity as I get filled with inspiration.

I know I will need a day or two to get settled back into the coziness of winter, get the fridge and cupboards stocked with food, do wash, etc.

For now, here are the links I found for you this week.

“When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying, ‘You’re too this, or I’m too this.’ That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.” – Ram Dass

  • I like decorative stacking boxes like these to place on a open shelf to keep my stash of greeting cards and stamps handy and ready when I need to send a get-well, birthday and handwritten notes for other occasions. (open in same tab)
