Style Scouting: Vol. 75

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

I am currently in Los Angeles and will be for another week – hence no new posts this week. But I have been busy – busy playing with Play-Doh and my granddaughter and her toys and her new play kitchen from Step 2. It is adorable with sizzling stove sounds, microwave and oven timers that beep and so many cute details.

I have also watched Disney’s new animated movie – Encanto. It was very good. I loved how vibrant and colorful the movie was and that the heroine was not a princess, but just an ordinary girl. :-)

Now onto the links I found this week…

Decorating

I am enjoying watching how this space is coming together.

What is the difference between the new trending decorating styles.

This home has a lot of nice features.

DIY

This is a great idea when you want to hang a large piece of art.

Do you like tulips? Did you know about this? I want to try it to see if it works.

For anyone who has trouble making a multi-loop bow.

Crafts

Valentine’s Day is a month away. Sweet ideas to give to your Valentine.

Food

This looks like a yummy meal for a cold winter’s day.

This guide has everything you need to know about freezing food the right way.

She always has the best cake recipes.

For anyone who loves bacon – have you ever cooked it this way?

Fashion & Beauty

My sister is a bigger beauty product junkie than I am and follows many Over 50 Beauty YouTubers that sing praises about this cream. My sister loves it. I ordered it, but have to wait till I get home to use it.

Out & About

How often can you reuse a K-95 or N-95 mask?

  1. I have used the pennies with tulips successfully for years. The hint was given to us from the Whitehouse florist.

  2. I remember CA in January as being wet and cold but it was nicer than the current weather in NC. It has been a struggle to find my zest recently but I’m enjoying your posts. Thank you for all you do.

  3. Great post with some very good links, in spite of all your extra time with granddaughter, which is really the most important thing! Particularly like the post about Zest

  4. I am anxious to hear what you think about the face cream you ordered. Please give us an update when you get home and have a chance to try it.
BTW-I love playing “play dough” with my granddaughter and as a previous teacher, I make my own from scratch and it is the best! :-)

      Hi K –

I know it has been a few weeks since you asked about the face cream I ordered. I wanted to use it so I could give you my review. I really like it. I have been using it at night, but not during the day as the one downfall with it is that it is sticky if you use too much.

In the morning when I wake up, my skin feels and looks baby soft. The cream is a clear gel and you don’t need a lot. I will be buying it again and understand why many people like it and also why others don’t like it because it has a sticky feel. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

  5. 😊 good post! Post. Thinking of you all or as they say y’all!

  6. Cooking bacon in the oven is much easier than other methods but sure does make a mess splattering the grease.

  7. Loved the zest, the fish….everything.

    Hi Diane

Here’s hoping your little granddaughter is doing well and you are enjoying the precious time you are spending together.

I was reading your blog and you mentioned a creme but no name and when I clicked on it many creams came up :). Can you please provide the name of the creme.

    Thanks Diane and take care.
