The frames and what you put in them is totally up to you and your style vision.

For Thanksgiving, I spray painted the frames using a Hammered Gold finish and created the Gobble Gobble Gobble printable on my computer. The l link for you to print it out is below.

The fun part of making these easy DIY drink coasters is that you can use any type of decorative paper, not just free printables to create unique coasters that can be changed out in seconds.

What Type of Paper To Use To Make Unique Drink Coasters?

The type of paper you use to make the coasters is up to you. Try a greeting card, wrapping paper, or a photo from a vacation to fit the season, your decor and style.

I bought the 4″ x 4″ inexpensive black frames at Walmart. The 4 x 4 square size is a perfect drink size. They no longer carry them, but you can find similar frames on Amazon.

The glass pops right out from the top of the frame, place the art in, pop the glass back in and you have an instant coaster when you lay the frame flat instead of using the easel stand that comes with it.

How to Cut the Free Printables to Fit Into Frames

Print the free printables here:

How to cut a free printable to make a holiday drink coaster
  1. Cut out the square using a pair of scissors or a Fiskars Paper Trimmer.  Cut on the outside of the lines. Don’t cut lines off or the printable may not be an exact fit. The size is slightly shorter than 4″ x 4″.

Once you cut whatever paper you want, simply place it into the top of the frame and pop in the glass. EZ and a fun way to add your personal style when entertaining.

Hi Kari – Thanks I am so happy that I can keep inspiring you. I hope you have a warm and sunny Thanksgiving.

      1. These are so fun and look pretty simple to make. Is the fiskars paper trimmer one that you would recommend? I’ve wanted to buy a 12 inch for a while and this price looks reasonable. Thank you Diane!

Hi Kathy – I love the 12″ Fiskars trimmer and would recommend any of the trimmers they make. It does a lot more in the way you can cut than an older model of theirs that I used for 20 years. I wanted to go up in size and could not be happier with the 12″. It is small enough to easily store, but large enough to cut larger pieces of paper for my crafting needs.

          1. Perfect! They’re in my cart. Your feedback is better than any review. : ) Thank you!
