Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

I’m ready to go full into holiday mode, but since the holidays are a season and not just a couple of days, I am taking it day by day and embracing a slow and steady start.

My hip is getting better each day, and I began to make a few holiday decorating crafts while sitting at my kitchen table. I will be sharing them soon with you. I made a shopping list from everything from gifts to buy to what I need to bake my family’s favorite holiday cookies and also am getting the house decorated a little bit each day.

Ed has been a big help doing the stuff I can’t do like getting down and crouching on the floor to get new twinkle lights on the tree, moving furniture and hanging a piece of reclaimed wood for a simple mantel.

This week if the supplies I need get delivered, I may even have a DIY project for you. So stay tuned. Enjoy your week.

Decorating

A portfolio of amazing houses.

A cozy 1980’s home that looks a century older.

An inspiring video home tour and the story behind–a 305-year-old historic family home.

A bright and cheery home makeover.

DIY

These are really a creative Christmas decoration.

I have never made these, but I sure am going to now.

I love this gingerbread house.

Food

I found this parchment paper hack really helpful.

To serve with your Thanksgiving dinner.

Looks like a pretty delicious Thanksgiving spread.

Out & About

If you like to listen to Christmas music early (like me!), this one will start getting you into the spirit of the season.

If you enjoy taking a walk in the woods or “forest bathing”, this site will help you find a forest or park near you to get started.

Watching this has been a Thanksgiving tradition at my house since I was a kid. I always enjoyed going to it when I lived in Pennsylvania. I was even in it one year when I was in college.  Now I watch while cozied up in pajamas with a cup of tea at home.

Fun & Interesting

I never had one of these cupcakes until I started going routinely to Los Angeles last fall. What a great success story.

Did you know of all the ways you can use these?

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. If you have kids or grandchildren that still believe in Santa, the Postal Service can help you prove it when Santa replies to your child’s letter — complete with the North Pole Postmark!  Or for digital aged kids, getting one of these would feel pretty special.

Something to Think About

While I get my new hip in shape, I have noticed when I stand really straight, walking is so much easier. Now I know for sure that doing these every day will be a good thing.
