Style Scouting Vol. 171

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

December for me usually starts off in a flurry of holiday decorating and shopping for the perfect Christmas gift for everyone on my list. This year is starting off in an entirely different way.

Instead, I have been all about bringing that Christmas feeling to the house for my 2 grandkiddies who are staying with Ed and I along with my older daughter and son-in-law for the whole month. As you can see – holiday decorating is going to take on a whole new look this year. :-) I will share the decor I have added this week.

family buying a Christmas tree at the lot

We went out to get the Christmas tree yesterday and will get it decorated today. Christmas music is on non-stop. I love having Spotify at Christmas as we can easily change what type of holiday music we are in the mood for.

And lastly – we made the first batch of Christmas cookies called Lemon Drops. The recipe was in a cute recipe book in the Give a Mouse a Cookie children’s book series entitled, Mouse Cookies. I have an anonymous reader to thank for recommending the book to me. :-) It is a hit with Zoe as well as the everyone else who has been enjoying the cookies.

  1. So thrilled you and your family enjoyed Mouse Cookies as much as we do each year. Happy holidays! ~~Swan

  2. So many great ideas in this post – I already have some burgundy and silver on my mantel, and I’m going to enhance it for the holidays. Now I know how to put my big scarf around my head to keep my ears warm when I’m unexpectedly in the cold (my previous efforts were not so good). My autumn mum porch pots are ready for a holiday makeover. And I’ve been listening for weeks to your Spotify Christmas baking playlist that you shared in the past – even though I haven’t done any baking, yet. Last but not least, such joy to see the smiling faces of you and your family. Enjoy a wonderful holiday!

  3. All I can say is what a blessing, Diane. I am so happy to see those smiling faces, I know your heart must be bursting. Merry Christmas!

  4. The pics are adorable of your grandchildren! Enjoy every minute!! Loved all of the links too. The guy making beautiful patterns in the snow was amazing!!

Having grands and their parents for Christmas month is all the decorating you need! Have the best time creating memories all around! Our UK family arrive in two weeks for 10 days. This granddaughter is 18 so we have a new “vibe.” Still fun!

Wonderful Scouting this week, Diane. And I loved the pic of you with your daughter and grands. Makes the season so much brighter having loved ones around. ♥
