Style Scouting: Vol. 179

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Tonight is the Superbowl, will you be watching? I will, but only occasionally when I look up from my newest read all snuggled under a fur throw. :-)

I like having football on in the house as the sound of a game on the TV gives me that cozy at home feeling, unlike my husband, Ed who enjoys every part of the game and can’t believe I am not watching every second.

I told him, I will know when to look up when I hear you making passionate comments about a play or something exciting happening in game.

I may look up for the commercials, but if they are like the past few years, they weren’t that creative or funny.

Hoping tonight they make me smile or laugh out loud.

  1. Dr Scholls Sandels… oh my I just had a flashback😊. Never paid $120 a pair. If I recall they were very reasonable.

I love your Sunday Styling posts! Thank you for all the work you put in to provide such a variety of ideas and information.

My hubby is having a father son weekend out of town for the Super Bowl. Me I am relaxing in my pjs and watching HGTV and Hallmark later. Not a football fan. Both of my sons were linemen in high school. Just never understood the game. However, best football memory I have is a blind date to a Mn Gopher football game with my hubby.

Hi June – I agree that the price of the Dr. Scholls is ridiculous! Back in the 70’s when I wore them, they were very affordable. I wore them so much that at the end of the summer, the bottom heel section would be worn down.

What you did on Sunday sounds perfect. With not being a fan of football, it must have been hard having to sit through many high school football games. :-)

  2. Hi Diane, I love reading your Sunday Style Scouting posts. I found the article on the appendix very interesting. I’m thankful I still have mine. I second your recommendation of Bedsure sheets, I have them on all of the beds in my home. Enjoy a peaceful Super Bowl Sunday!

    1. Diane Henkler says:

Hi Vikki – The appendix article was eye opening for me as I do have some of the issues that were covered in the article. I will be researching the topic more for sure. I tell everyone I know about Bedure sheets. I used to buy name brand and designer sheets at HomeGoods, but no more. Only Bedsure from now on. I hope they never change the way they make them.

  3. I also owned some Dr.Scholl’s
many years ago. I can’t imagine
paying that amount today for a pair mainly because my feet are now arthritic and I would probably only wear them once.
However, I am going to keep my eye out to see if they become a trend again this summer. I loved mine fifty years ago.

Hi Deb – I agree that the price of the Dr. Scholls is ridiculous! Back in the 70’s when I wore them, they were very affordable. I remember wearing one white pair so much one summer that at the end of the summer, the bottom of the heel sole section was be worn down. Same for my sister. Our legs were so toned. :-)

  4. As a resident of KC metro and lifelong Chief’s fan, I will most definitely be watching the Super Bowl. Go Chiefs!!!
