Style Scouting: Vol. 94

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

Wow! The summer season is officially here. Memorial day weekend is in full swing on the lake. Lots of sunshine and boats and people of all ages having fun in the sun.

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

I like this home. See the entire portfolio – here.

Beautiful homes come in all shapes and sizes.

My daughter, Mandy has been looking for an old-fashioned glider like this for her porch. When I was helping her look, I found this one and fell in love.

I like simple doormats. This one is on sale.

DIY

Now this is one very clever way to repurpose an item you don’t want anymore for its original purpose.

Seeing this brought back fond crafting memories when I was a kid.

I finally know what I can do with some of the seashells I have collected over the years.

This is a very “cool table” (literally) for your patio, porch or deck.

Organizing

I finally found a vintage farmhouse looking mug rack that will fit under my kitchen cabinets.

Home Improvement

I need this tool for keeping the area where the grass meets the gardens neat and tidy. See how to use it here.

Food

A very cool summertime slaw recipe.

Oh my… this recipe looks beyond delicious.

Tacos never looked so good – like WOW!

Gardening

I never knew this about tomatoes.

Out & About

Celebrate and enjoy the music by tuning into to the national Memorial Day concert.

Fashion & Beauty

How to soften linen to lessen the wrinkles and make it softer.

Fun & Interesting

One more reason to hug more – especially the women in your life.

Something to Think About

The news of this past week at times is too much to bear. It is a reminder to be kind, give your kids an extra hug.

Life can be better when we just slow up.

Memorial Day is tomorrow. It is a day that inspires gratitude for all that we have and all of the individuals & families that sacrificed so that we may have it.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful human emotions – capable of transforming not just ourselves, but the world around us as well.

How wonderful that something as simple as pausing to reflect on all our blessings could have such a positive impact on our lives!

I hope you are enjoying a beautiful holiday weekend.

  1. Watching the Memorial Day Concert on PBS is an annual event at our house. My parents introduced us to it and we have fond memories of watching with them every year.

Hi Margaret – We had friends over and were outside. I did catch the end of it after they left. I hope you had a nice holiday weekend.

Hi Nancy – I think the recipe is my favorite. Happy to know you enjoyed it.

My mother was a letter and note writer. In fact, she would write a note of thanks to each physician or surgeon that helped her through a health crisis. It was remarkable how touched they were with her note of gratitude.
During the pandemic, found a fountain pen cleaning out drawers. Started using it and then found a whole community of fountain pen fans. To enjoy beautiful writing check out- Gourmet Pens on YouTube and for sources of fountain pens – Goulet Pens, Jet Pens etc. Beautiful inks and pens. Enjoy!
