I have exciting news to share…I know Christmas is a few months away…but when you love the season as much as I do and like to make festive decorations and gifts you can never start too early, right?

Back in January, a Better Homes & Garden editor and photographer came to my house to take photos of my holiday decor for their annual Christmas Ideas magazine.  I wrote about the experience, here.

Guess what, the 2014 issue of BHG Christmas Ideas came out this week. I saw it when I was standing in line at Michaels.

Christmas Ideas 2014

My home is featured along with numerous other homeowners and bloggers’ homes.  There are lots of different decorating styles to inspire you.  Plus pages of projects and ideas on how to festively decorate, make ornaments, gift wrapping ideas, and more.

My holiday decorating colors are non-traditional. My feature was aptly titled,  A Colorful Journey.  :-)

8 pages showing my favorite things that I use to create a festive atmosphere for my family and friends.

All done on a budget, DIY, and lots of love.   You can get Christmas Ideas magazine on sale through 12/08/2014 wherever magazines are sold.

Starting on October 17th, I am taking part in a holiday decorating blogger series with a few other bloggers called – Fridays till Christmas.  I will be sharing how I did everything shown in the magazine and more to help you get your home holiday-ready.

Here are a few projects I posted last year to give you a head start.

If you don’t see it on the magazine or newsstands when you are out and about shopping, you can order a digital copy, here.

Just in case you were wondering, as of today – September 12 – there are 103 days left to Christmas. ;-)

  1. I have not purchased a magazine in years because of no funds, but this one I will buy because you two and your home is featured. My boyfriend says it is all fake and someone else does all the crafts and I told him that some may, but NOT you. I know you are real and do all you post for real. If not, not …. like your floors being redone, you are totally honest. I know because of stuff you have answered to me and helped me with.

  2. Wanted to tell you that Saturday I went looking for this magazine at Hobby Lobby. So excited when I found it. Plus they let me use my 40% off coupon so the magazine was really a deal! I took it home and put it up until closer to Christmas. Right now I am happy to be playing around w/ my fall decor. I’ll think about Christmas in late November. So happy for you that you are in this beautiful magazine. Love your site!!

  3. That’s wonderful, Diane! I remember you saying your re-decorated for Christmas. I just saw this magazine at the check out stand but didn’t get it yet (I’m still putting off reading my Cottage Journal Autumn issue!). Now that I know this is the one you are in, I will pick it up next time I’m out.

    1. Thanks Kathy – I have looked through the Cottage Journal Autumn issue every time I am standing in line at the check-out. The photos are dreamy…all that us Fall lovers crave. XO

  4. Diane!
What a dream come true! I’m very happy for you and what a great photo of you and the hubby.

  5. Congratulations! You are making big headway in your field. You certainly stand out to me.

I am knee-deep in home renovations so I go back to your site for inspiration.

    Kathy

  6. Hooray! I remember reading about the shoot in past blogs. How exciting for you! We do not celebrate christmas but I look forward to seeing the mix of color and styles that you used. You have an exceptional eye for color.

  7. Congratulations! So deserving of the recognition! When you showed the check out girl, I bet she was pretty excited too. It’s not every day that they have someone come through their line who has been featured in a magazine! :)

  8. I am so THRILLED for you. I can’t even imagine the feeling. I would have not only shown the cashier, but everyone in the aisles and the parking lot. The photographs look amazing. Can’t wait to go pick up my own copy.

  9. Congratulations Diane, What lovely recognition and well deserved for all your obvious hard work, I dont know how you organise your time but that would probably make another story :)

  11. Yeah for you. I just picked up my issue this week, but I am trying to hold off until at least after Halloween to look through it. I am sure you have lots of ideas for us. Have a wonderful weekend. Alaina

  12. How wonderfully exciting! Because you’re featured I’m going to purchase a copy. But ya know, I do have to laugh when I see things like the magazine’s cover where it says “Holiday Elegance on a Budget”. Everyone has a “budget”…some just have bigger or smaller budgets than others :-)

  13. You certainly deserve this attention. You are very talented and work really hard all the time. I admire your workmanship, ideas, energy, abilities – all of it. Your blog is the best I have ever read.

  14. What an accomplishment ! We are all so very proud of you. I’m going to head out to look for it immediately!

  15. Congratulations! That is so awesome for you. I follow your blog but don’t always have time to leave a comment. I know, I know, bad reader :(

But I did want to take the time to congratulate you, it’s a well deserved honor!

  16. Congratulations! This is very exciting and just rewards for your hard work and generous attitude!

  17. How great for you!!! Can’t wait to find it. Love all of your ideas. You and your husband look so cute I. The picture, and your home looks beautiful.

    Congrats on your success!
